Is it just me, regarding Jimmy and Rush...

I swear I've heard Jimmy attack Rush violently in the past, especially regarding Geddy's singing, and because they weren't Sabbath or Kiss. In fact, I dimly recall a conversation where he asked Ant and Opie what albums of theirs was good, because he didn't know much about them, like he did with The Who, another band he did a reversal over, he trashed them for years, until the singer was in the studio.

I know it's nitpicking, but I swear his "I've always loved Rush" is not accurate. Anyone? Or is it impossible to keep track of Jimmy's musical opinions?

The man is pushing 50 and he'd take a bullet for Paul Stanley. His musical opinion is obviously silly, irrelevant and more questionable than picking up tranny hookers.

Yeah, he's 50... therefore... he should.... be certain ways.... and stuff....

I know what you're saying....but Jimmy isn't exactly one to be open to new music or other music from Sabbath/Ozzy/KISS.

Well, he like 5 Finger Death Punch...so his musical taste is highly suspect to start with.

But he's said he shits on things just to be funny sometimes...so it's hard to try and hold him accountable to things he's said in the past on the show.

I think you're incorrect. As a huge Rush fan, I've always perked up when they get mentioned on the show. Jimmy has always been appreciative of them. I remember him mentioning Subdivisions as one of his favorite songs, and this was years ago, probably 06/07. He also once did an Uncle Paul bit, he was the "white haired uncle" in Red Barchetta. Suuure.

He definitely used to trash The Who though, but I'm having trouble remembering if he ever notably trashed any other classic rock bands. Maybe Pink Floyd?

Sometimes they exaggerate how much they hate something for the radio. It's boring radio to be lukewarm on a subject. That said, Rush stinks. I'm convinced people only like them because they're supposed to like them. They play technical music. Whoop dee doo. Listening to them is a chore.

That's fine, but I wasn't asking about your opinion of them, really. I loved them in high school, but burned out on them hard in college, and rarely listened to them again, until the last couple years. There's good stuff in there. But i was asking about Jimmy.

Oh well, so many silly gooses, so little time...

I've never really understood why he always praises Sabbath, I've always just seen them as mediocre but I saw them live at the start of this month and they were actually fucking amazing. I will never understand Kiss though, they really are a novelty act, they're for kids.

I saw Kiss open for Aerosmith about a decade ago, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I fell asleep during Aerosmith, but Kiss fucking rocked...and I'm not even a huge fan

Really? Alright, maybe I'm wrong about them too. I expected Sabbath to be awful but was really surprised, in fairness I don't know a lot about them.

It was kind of distracting - the way the show was completely broken down into segments. Like, when Gene was going to start power booting blood, there was an actual graphic on the giant screens that said "blood puke" (or something like that), and then a two minute build up. Kinda lame to do that for every little "HEY, LOOK AT US!" moment, but overall a great show.

And Paul Stanley needs to stop leading off every single sentence with "PEOPLE, ....!"

Sounds gimmicky, but it can't be as annoying as Ozzy bringing up Sharon in the middle of every show. Thankfully everyone just booed when he said her name.

I haven't seen Ozzy since 96. Thankfully, this was before he started doing that.

Alright, maybe I'm wrong about them too.

You're not. Kiss is a spectacle at best. Their music stinks.

Hey, there's that amazingly written song where they rhyme masses with masses.

Well, Rush is rubbish anyway.
