SNL now ripping off Stern

Poorly written and unfunny

Did SNL become unwatchable at about the same moment Stern became unlistenable? Somewhere around 2007 or 2008?

SNL was horribly unfunny before that time

It's also the reason why they've been focusing more on Music and so on to pad out their content.

SNL was never funny.

Norm Macdonald was hilarious on update.

The guy who replaced him wasn't that bad either, Am I right, gang?

"Hey Norm, did you gain weight?"

Yes he was. I miss Norm.

It ranks right up there as one of the most overrated things ever. I found the Will Ferrell bits funny in the 6th grade.

i've noticed that there's this weird conversational rule where if anyone talks about how shitty SNL is, someone will go "yeah remember when it used to be good" and people agree without thinking. it's always been lukewarm, middle of the road type of stuff. i don't get it.

It is the Sandler Effect. The longevity and the output of the act assures that there will be some stuff that isn't as bad as the rest, stuff that could be charitably termed "good." That is the stuff that will forever be used to defend a product that has been off the mark 80 percent of the time. Count the hits, ignore the misses. SNL was "good" in the 70s, or the 90s, or the early 2000s, even when it was never really "good."

There were some great bits in the 90s, but most of the sketches weren't so good. Anything with Norm, commercial parodies (in the 90s at least), and a handful of hosts that knew what they were doing, those are what people remember.

I'd say it's been awful since 2004 though.

I agree. I never laughed my ass of, with the exception of Jim Carrey playing Jimmy Stewart in 1996.

SNL isn't even on right now. What prompted this?

I always liked Keenan whenever he was on. His Charles Barkley is perfect. Bill Hader was good too but I dont watch it much

Are they?

Just like your post.
