Why are a notable subset of the fans in this subreddit so much less reasonable than the hosts?

In my opinion, Opie, Anthony, Norton, and Patrice when he was around show or showed a remarkable ability to get their points across in a very nuanced, well spoken, thoughtful way.

Sure, they dick around a lot, but they can defend it too.

Here when the Ant firing thing happened, and some other times (e.g. when the guy posted about his back injury and how the show helped him), a bunch of the people here were TERRIBLE, and generally are. Not just emotionally or morally, but logically. People come here and say reasonable shit and a bunch of you guys seem incredibly fucking stupid in how you handle it (calling anyone who criticizes the show or shows any sort of humanity a nigger / faggot / cunt / chink / etc) as well as weirdly idolizing Ant.

I don't get it. What attracted you to the show? Why are you a fan of it?

Ironically, some of the people here perpetuate the image of the show that they're so upset by. If Gawker writes an article saying that Ant is racist heartless piece of shit, and I come here to find a bunch of people being like that, it's gonna make me think Gawker was correct.

So in a way you're fucking over the guy you're idolizing. For example, this post: http://www.reddit.com/r/SubredditDrama/comments/29q03c/cohost_of_notably_popular_opie_and_anthony_radio/ was on the front page of a subreddit that has over 100k subscribers for like 3 days. Look at the comments section. Half of it is them mocking the people here.

Once again this isn't directed at everyone. Just certain people here who act a certain way. It's completely ridiculous. I honestly don't understand it.
