He's just a boy with big radio dreams. Podcasting is scary for that sweet little boy.

Enough of the "sweet boy" meme. We get it. Not picking on you, a lot of people do it. I cringe when I see it at this point. How many times can you hear the same exact thing before it becomes old?

AIDSSS

I don't get it. Stuff starts sucking when it's repeated ad nauseum.

816 426 times.

perhaps more than that

But why does that make you upset? I don't want Jimmy to read this thread and to start crying because he thinks you don't like him. :(

I like Jim's contribution to the show just fine, I've just had it with the sweet boy bit. I'm not interested in fawning over the creep. I don't have little hearts over my head when I think of Yimmy. Sorry.

People like Jimmy and with the subject being him as a sweet boy, it's got a vibe to it like I'm picking on a innocent, well-meaning lad. You can almost see him with a big smile on his face that turns to a frown and a flower in his hand that droops because of my post.

But really, he's one of dirtiest, darkest comics around who comes from a viper's pit of insult master fellow comedian friends. He's not hurt by it even if he did ever read it. I think he'd get tired of and embarrassed by the sweet innocent boy stuff coming from fans himself.

go away.

I bet you are fat and read "graphic novels".

I bet you are skinny as a result of HIV.

I don't get why people get so wound up for the right to pretend Jim is an innocent young boy. He's a veteran mean, self-loathing comedian who likes to do dirty things to trannies.

Yeah it's almost like they are joshing around or something!

That's the bit!

Leave that sweet boy alone!!

We get it, to be fair is the most hacked out Jimmy quote there is.

LOL no surprise here. Nobody wants to be called out on it. It's hack though now. He's a sweet boy, he's just a sweet boy, such a sweet boy that Jim Norton. Am I right? He's a sweet boy. A sweet boy at that. Sweet Jim Norton, the sweet young boy. Sweet Jimmy Norton. He's a sweet boy.

Ugh we HEARD you

My point exactly. Glad you are catching on.

Edit: Even that phrasing sounds ripped directly from the show. "Ugh we HEARD you". Does that not embarrass you guys, to just regurgitate the way the hosts speak? There's a lot of intelligent discussion here, which I like, but also a lot of people who just want to hero worship. That's why I'm really sick of the sweet boy thing besides the repetitiveness actually. Too fawning for me. Probably stolen from the show too, I haven't been listening long enough to know for sure.

What a no fun autistic cunt you are.

Most of my posts in the past have ended up with more upvotes than down. We just obviously differ in opinion on this. Phrased a different way, in a different context, I'm sure I could get a lot of people to agree on the fanboy shit.

They discuss Cumiagate for about 30 minutes max.

Or just a Factual Fred.

hoo hoo

Podcasting is not lucrative. Chances are they will bring in as much GROSS ad revenue as Opie's current salary and then they have to cover any staff, bandwidth, engineering, studio costs etc. Even Joe says it's a means to promote his stand up and other things. Most of his income comes from UFC & Stand-Up. Same with Carolla, he takes his show on the road and sells that disgusting wine. I know we all want an O&A podcast but it's not going to happen unless they are making money somewhere else. And let's not kid ourselves, they aren't going to do it because they "love it". Jimmy needs to make money, Opie's got 2 Kids and Anthony's got to support his AIDs medication and degenerate gambling. They may have "F U money" for a while but with their lifestyle that doesn't last.

It won't even be worth Jimmy's time to do a podcast every day. He would be better off doing more road dates.

That's not true.

Jim and other comedians have stated this all the time: Constantly touring is maintenance. You don't make anything other than financial or personal progress doing that.

If you want to jump to the next level, you do so through appearances and guest spots. Killing on Conan or the Tonight Show is worth an entire year of touring.

Louis CK didn't explode because of his constant road dates. He has been funny forever but mostly unnoticed. He got recognized because he constantly tried to create his own material and would sacrifice anything to get public tv spots.

Right...but Jimmy aid the other day that he makes more money on the road than he does from his OnA salary. He wouldnt take a paycut to stay on Sirius. He would rather venture out and find other projects than take less money.

Jim provided an awesome defense, even if whats done is done.

Alot of people listen to Joe Rogan, so the more the truth is put out there, the better.

Im already bored of the cumia gate talk. O&J seem to be doing a great job so far and I look forward to checking out Anthony's show as well.

The problem for Ant is...O&J can bring enough funny into the room everyday that he won't be missed after a while. Yes, we all love Ant.... but, this isn't like a basketball team trying to replace Lebron James with some scrub. You bring in Soder, Florentine, and those type of guys everyday and there will still be just as many laughs as ever without the racial/political stuff.

There's absolutely no way they can bring them in everyday. All those guys have lives of there own. You think a working comic is gonna work 1 or 2 days a week for free? your insane. Think of how many days it was just Ant, Opie and Jim. Remove Ant from the picture and what you have is the same old sad voiced Opie and noone to make Jim belly laugh and bounce jokes off of. Sure Dan and Collin will drop in from time to time, but I think these next few months are gonna be a huge bummer.

They could very easily and cheaply sign any of those guys to be 3rd mic full time if needed. In the end, this will work out very well for Sirius. They will be able to keep Opie and Jim at a much lower payscale.

I just hope its not vos. He's a great guest as long as they put his ego in check. But long term his stupidity would be too much.

Vos actually tours pretty well and his stand up is pretty goddamn good, I doubt Sirius would offer him enough.

If they offered him Ant's wages he would in a second, but they'll never do that. I think that was primarily the reason to get rid of him honestly. Those guys made WAY more than their market share dictates they should.

How do you know they will be able to keep them at a much lower payscale?

because Opie and Jimmy or Opie, Jimmy and Vos is not a long standing brand with huge drawing power. They arent gonna pay Opie 1million plus per year. Why would they? What leverage does Opie have?

A hugely successful radio career.

A hugely successful radio career that only happened because of his partner in the Opie & Anthony Show.

If not for Ant, Opie would be on a show like they attack on Jocktober, in some small town in New England.

Opie is not a performer, never has been. He needs a team. Who else does he have the same chemistry with, that could drive a show like this has been?

what competition can Opie go to and make even 50% of what he can make at Sirius?

You could say the same thing about the Opie and Anthony show. I'm just saying theirs no way to know if Sirius would drastically lower there pay, or if Jim and Opie would accept it.

Only thing that matters is leverage, and leverage on the radio comes in the form of viewership figures.

When the boyssss switched over to Sirius they lost a metric fuck load of viewers, and they never recovered. Opie admits that frequently on the show.

The guys had almost no leverage to begin with and have been coasting off of previous success. It's going to dwindle even further now that so many people have cancelled to support Ant and even more will leave to be part of his new show.

So you have a third of the radio's sucess (really more likely a half, sorry Jim) leaving, and bringing some of that leverage with him.

Opie can only go downhill from here, and he's a stubborn dick head most of the time so he'll walk before accepting much less, which he will not be offered.

I've said it before and I'll say it again here, Opie and Jim will not be at sirius after their negotiations. Sirius will offer Opie <$500k and he'll leave, forcing Norton out with him.

Jimmy gestures and wiggles around in his seat alot.

If I had tits and was a paltalk whore trying to fuck Anthony, I would know that already, but alas, tis new to me.

You might not want to fuck Ant, but you probably have tits :)

...there are people that wouldn't want to fuck Ant? Or be fucked by him? Count me surprised.

I want a herd of blacks to fuck Ant

Yaay something to listen to today!

You can tell jimmy and opie really don't want to bash Sirius for the chance they might resign and jimmy gets a raise, they're going to be shocked when they start the negotiations and Sirius severely low balls them. How more blunt does rogan have to be....START A FUCKIN PODCAST!, No bosses, live venues, ur own setup, u don't like the studio, u can change it to whatever u want. I'm really starting to think jimmy and opie desperately want to resign.

Well with sxm they get a garunteed multimillion dollar salary. Id imagine its Hard to give that up. There might be podcasts that make that much but I doubt it.

Jesus christ, Joe had some good points, good on Jimmy as well.

The hint of Jimmy's Louie impression in there made me so happy.

I normally don't like Joe but this was a great podcast.

This podcast made me realize that Jim thinks that Louie impression is actually good
