He's said in several interviews that he always wants to do radio if he has the option, I'm sure on some level speaking as a host has become a passion of his. This will definitely put that to the test. He'll either love doing it and put out incredible content, or he'll hate it and flop. I'm hopeful about it, just because it's Jim and I know he's smart enough to do it in an entertaining way. I mean, on paper Tough Crowd doesn't sound like a great idea but it was awesome and full of great moments because Colin knew how to steer the ship.

Am I the only one who likes Jim's interviews? I think his questions seem genuine, personal and interesting. But even in a worst case scenario at least he'll do a good job throwing funny lines in.

He's friendly and likable but his questions consistently suck. They tend to be childish and simple, and many of them are well known to anyone familiar with the guest.

I disagree, even on paper, Tough Crowd looks awesome.

Cancelling it is one of television's greatest failures. If it had gotten 3 more seasons, it would not only have found a big audience and become a ratings success, but it's DVD sales would have been phenominal as well. Finally, it could still be ongoing now, and it could always stay relevant by cycling comics in and out with newer unknowns and guests unrelated to the stand up business but with interesting insights elsewhere.

Jimmy needs to compare what he does and what Ronnie does in each situation, and change what he's doing to whatever Ronnie does.

Should he research a guest beforehand, or wing it and let comedy take it's course? Well, what does Ronnie do? He researches them extensively, and because of this, the guest becomes VERY comfortable with him even if they don't know him well. He also ALWAYS ends up asking a question so deep and stimulating to the guest that they remarks on how good of a question it is, then pause and think about it for a few seconds before replying: it's a good question they have never been asked before.

That's one example, but if Jimmy just talks to Ronnie about it, he could learn a whole hell of a lot.
