The firing of Anthony Cumia has had very little impact on my life.

I still have my own career to worry about, and I'm still earning a fair salary. My friends are still around, and my family is getting through their own shit as normal.

The only thing that's changed is a radio show I enjoyed on weekdays is going away.

Are you really "destroyed" by this? Do you have nothing else?

I've listened to the show daily for most of 16 years. I'm not 'devastated', but but it most certainly leaves a big hole.

Some people have given three to four hours a day of the last 20 years to this radio show. I couldn't even imagine the total time I've spent listening to O&A.

Of course I'm upset, it's something I love and grew to become involved with emotionally and now it's very likely gone, and there won't be a replacement to fill that hole.

I am annoyed by this, I am disappointed by this, it's a reflection on the world we live in. You are complacent and bit by bit you will focus on the really important things that matter to you like family or work and one day you'll wake up and think WTF Happened to the world around me??? no one is destroyed over this, but it's not right either.

I am torn. I was a subscriber to XM since 2007. When Ant got fired I canceled my subscription. I didn't do this because I felt Jim and Opie should quit, nor did I do it because I didn't think they could perform on their own. I did it because I felt, and still feel, that SiriusXM was wrong in their actions. I also felt that the overall product that SiriusXM provides has slipped.

I initially bought the service for O&A. Then I got hooked on Ron and Fez. I also loved the punk station Fungus. First they got rid of Fungus. I called and bitched. I was told it would be back. It wasn't. I was told to check out Faction, sorry but that is just garbage. Then the whole format and offering on the O&A channel started to peter out.

I miss the days of full replays on the weekends. I miss when they used to play full Ron and Fez shows. I miss the friends of the show content. Ron and Fez moving to RawDog was another major blow. Also the constant channel moving of O and A. So Ant getting fired was just the final straw.

I will do my best to pick up Opie and Jim when I can. Hell the same is true of Ant's future podcast. Okay I am rambling like a bitch that was dumped on prom night. So I am done bitching, for now. I just need to wait and see what happens come october.

Why would I support them? I don't want them to continue past October. I understand that they need to finish out their contract, but I don't want them to keep doing some shell of a show beyond that. If they re-up in October that is the absolute worst case scenario.

What is your definition of support? I understand that they are forced to remain at SXM but I've cancelled my subscription. It's nothing against O&J, but SXM killed the show I listened to and I'm choosing not to give them anymore money. I also don't feel that SXM will give the remaining show the support they need to be successful.

You don't have to pick Anthony over Opie or Opie over Anthony. Support both shows. Keep your Sirius subscription and buy Anthony's show. Let them figure it out. It's what they do.

Okay well by that I meant keep listening to the Sirius show. I understand a lot of you listen to the show on YouTube or other ways.

I respect O&J's commitment to their staff who would be screwed by them giving the O&A show a proper send-off, but that's where it ends. Contracts are a bitch and they are doing the right thing. Everyone has a few months of notice to find another gig. However, if my 20-year partner was fired for any reason other than murder or rape I would leave. I have had friends that I've known for less than 5 years that I'd do anything for. Nothing wrong with Ope and Ant's relationship being business, but this reaction seems to indicate that's all it has been for a while

Opie and Jim said if they breached contract, they could get sued a ridiculous amount of money based on damages that SXM would have attributed to them walking out. I don't think it's that hard of a decision. Ant's going to be fine. Let him do his own thing for a few months and see how he likes it.

Seriously, I don't understand why people still don't seem to get this. If you break a contract, you get sued. Sirius has a horde of lawyers...Op and Jim don't. Stern spent a shit ton of money trying to fight Sirius and lost. O&J wouldn't stand a chance.

I support them. But I don't support siriusxm and that is because Opie and company have been telling us they are terrible for years. So I cancelled my subscription.

Opie and Anthony had stopped "supporting" their listeners by putting what seemed liked, ZERO effort, into their shows for well over 6 months now. Let's not re-write history...

If Opie can provide me with an entertaining show consistently, I'll listen consistently. Maybe he surprises all of us by doing so, but I highly doubt it.

Same with Ant.. If he produces a quality show, with his smarts and some intelligent marketing, he'll do just fine. If he puts out a show that resembles a drunk, half-cocked rambling moron who rants about guns, blacks and Obama, he'll fail. And rightfully so.

The way I see it is I'm supporting all three of them. My loyalty is to the show not the fans. Which means I support Op Ant and Norton. There's always been this undercurrent in this fanbase that in order to be a fan you have to do what the majority of fans expect you to do. So I say, until you live my life and pay my bills you don't tell me what the fuck to do.

I do support O&J - I'm not canceling, I'm not renewing in September and I told SXM why. This is a travesty but the boys are not to blame

They are bringing in the big guns first two days back. But like they said, wait until Wednesday. Wait until a show with no guests.

It's not supporting Anthony over Opie, it's sending a statement to SiriusXM. Staying "loyal" to Opie and keeping the subscription doesn't say anything to SiriusXM other then go ahead, "do whatever you want, we'll still give you our money".

BTW... if you even want the chance of Ant coming back, they have to lose a TON of subscriptions to make them think about bringing Anthony back. It's all about money to SiriusXM, if it weren't they would have gotten rid of evil Anthony years ago, he's said worse on the show then what he put on Twitter and they had no problem giving him a paycheck. It's all about their profits!
