I have never thought Opie was good because he can't take a joke and Jimmy and all the other comedians go easy on him. I have seen this mentioned a couple of times now, so I wasn't being an ass thinking this?

Opie brings up nearly being paralyzed by a wave, the guys go after him, instead of firing back, he just keeps repeating "glad I brought that up" in a sulky kind of tone. The rest of crew tries to one up each other. He's just like a moderator at a debate, he brings up a topic, then lets others turn it into something funny.

No, ugh stop labelling the whole sub after you see one comment you don't like. You can disagree with me and think I'm an asshole, but don't take this attitude as if everybody else but yours opinion is wrong.
Roland's weight & Jimmy's career are real issues which probably really affect them both, I can understand both of those things not being mentioned on the show because it would probably be genuinely hurtful and hard to make funny.
However, Opie not being funny is different. Everyone else on the show either admits or gets called out on their bombs and deservedly so, since the show is "above all else ... real". Why is Opie specifically immune from being made fun of?
