Opie, the Clippers and a tale of hypocrisy

2  2014-07-14 by [deleted]

Remember the Donald Sterling situation? What was Opie arguing the whole time? That the players should just not show up to the games anymore, that it would make a huge statement and what not.... remember?

Now, isn't it a bit hypocritical that you don't walk? Don't you think? Considering your own partner got canned the way he did? Ah, contracts and obligations and shit... the players were under them too, like your colleague Jim Norton always had to point out to you. Aren't you the let's make a statement guy?

Looks like /r/opieandanthony is picking up right where it left off.

I think you missed his point. The Opster was arguing that it's pathetic that their form of protest was turning their socks inside out or whatever. If they actually wanted to make a statement they should have not played.

Exactly, he was arguing for them to protest by breaking their contract obligations (play the games). Well, in what other situation this point of his applies too?

Life goes on, who gives a fuck. Other than you, I guess.

I couldn't care less... I wish all the success to the new incarnation of the show and will be listening everyday like a good boy. I'm just pointing out this huge hypocrisy.

When actually facing being sued for millions, fucking over yourself AND Anthony, the decision becomes a lot tougher.

I think it shows that he didn't think the NBA thing through more than it shows he's a hypocrite.

NBA players have a powerful union that is pretty quick to strike in total solidarity. Opie is an over the hill radio guy. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Opie is a mindless retard. After hearing the superman thing I cant take a single opinion of his seriously
