This will probably work out for all three of them (Possible plan for the show)

The firing of Anthony sucks but this may be the thing they need as a jumping off point come October.

Anthony has stated that he is currently setting up infrastructure to make his "Live From The Compound" show his full time gig. This is going to mean that by the time October comes along, they will have a system in place for them to quickly phase into the internet medium.

They have a fucking studio in Ant's basement. There is no way in hell they don't end up using it.

They have chatted for years about how they loved what people like Kevin Smith and Robert Kelly have done with their networks. This is likely going to end with the creation of an "O&A Network" type of internet radio which they will bring on talent that they like.

I just don't see Opie making that trip out to Long Island everyday. But then again, Ant did the opposite journey every morning...maybe it's Opie's turn.

Opie has said for years that he thinks the city is overrated. He has wanted out for a while now.

He'd absolutely be willing to move. The question is whether Jim would be willing.

Never underestimate what you'll do for your kids.

I've been noticing more and more when Opie talks about his kids he's less happy living in the city.

Who said the show is going to be every day?

I suspect strongly, that the days of a daily show are over, for good. Jimmy could use the extra time for his show, and his gigs, and whatever comes up. Going to Long Island 2 or 3 days a week is no big sacrifice.

Plus, I really wonder if the extra time for the Compound going live...is because Ant is moving it all to his city apartment. It would make sense. Or, just buying new stuff. Kevin Smith gave all of his newbie podcasters about 10k worth of gear, and they did fine. The whole thing with podcasting is it doesn't take a fortune to get started. Rogan was talking about how they don't have a tricaster (the board that lets ant run several channels of video), and they're doing great.

We'll see. Nobody has a clue how this will turn out. I like conjecturing as much as anyone, and I see how the pieces could fit, but who knows.

Personally, a show like Rogan's would be perfect. 3 times a week, with it being dead easy to do special shows, like election night, or covering special events, They can do less shows or more, to fit schedules, Opie could go consult for big bucks and still do the show, there's endless opportunities.

The only way I see Opie staying is if they offer him his salary AND ants, but I don't see Sirius doing that, I see them saying "Well, you lost x amout of subscribers, so we're offering 30% less than the last contract, take it or leave it." Opie is not scary important to Sirius's bottom line, I bet they have the replacement content for the channel ready to go.

Edited to add...or, what about the Compound as ONE show on a new podcasting network, that they start. Ant has The Compound, Jimmy can do whatever he wants, they can do a show of all three of them once or twice a week, or 3 times a week, and Opie can do a show about sunsets, if he wants to. They can give Bobo a show. Or Di. Big A's House of Loose Women and Tied Tongues. Weird Medicine - you know Dr. Steve would jump ship from Sirius, he had to go outside to make any money from it anyway.

The key here is, they can do anything they want. IF they want to.

I don't see O&A teaming up again after this. They had a huge financial incentive to stay together on the show. What ever they do separately most likely won't be as lucrative. I think if both guys were going to do something "different" they will have different ideas on a direction they want to go in. I'd love to see a return to the WNEW days where their show was insane for 4+ hours every day though, so I hope you're right.

Same here. I've been listening to a few clips today and even when you know they've had their ups and downs, Opie and Anthony really are great hearing when they're just shooting the shit. Definitely going to miss that if the show never fully reunites.

If you recall when they began developing their youtube and Anthony started the studio at the compound there was a vague idea of this being the destination

I think we need to come to grips with the fact that there is a decent/good chance that this is the last of the 3 together. Ant will do a mildly successful LFTC show and O and J will continue a mildly successful show on Sirius. I don't see Opie leaving a financially more sound option from Sirius to start a new venture with his old host who has already shown his inclination towards volatility and controversy. Opie the Destroyer had a couple of kids and now has a different bottom line.
