I agree op, my least favorite part of the show was Ant political and racial rants. I hadn't even seen LFTC until this whole shit storm, but it appears to be nothing but ranting about black people. Ant is a comedic genius, but he needs people to steer him into interesting topics. Without that, it's just humorless angry rants.

totally agree with this. As much as people complain about Opie, when they are together, he really just steers the ship, jumps in when things are got going in the right direct.. The few times when it was just Ant/Jimmy, again, rudderless. Both need each other as they work well together. I can't see either looking at what they built and be OK with totally losing what they have created.

Well as i said before in another post i think before was just him goofing off with new toys and not being serious because he didnt need to be, it was just for fun, now he will start actually doing a real podcast that will be his only show it will be much different (probably)

Agree. I am a huge fan of ant. But him alone with LFTC is not going to be very successful. God I hope they end up together again.

The odds are they will stay together. Unless they have creative differences that haven't been talked about much on the air, the smartest place is for them is together. There will probably be some time from now until October where Opies contract could prevent it.

In terms of money, they are worth more as a duo than as individual podcasts. The name Opie and Anthony is worth more than their names separate.

They are already the #1 comedy/shock jock duo ever on radio. There is nothing to suggest either one would be more successful alone or paired with someone else.

This only makes sense if someone want to hire them.. I dont think anyone wants to right now. If Ant is trying to pay the bills doing podcasts he doesnt want to split the revenue. Not to mention, do you think the opster is doing a show at the compound. They might have a fist fight on air. The only way theyre staying together is if somebody like Pandora hires them and the whole staff. Sorry guys.. looks like it over.

I think the quote from Adam Corolla is pretty spot on. They need to build their own pirate ship where nobody can fire them.

Between LFTC, Riot cast, Rogan and Kevin Smith they have options and connections into podcasting. An all new pay to download service with O&A and some of the big friend of the show podcasts such as Vos and Bonnie, YKWD, etc could in theory work. It would take a few stars to align and wouldn't happen overnight. IF this happened or started in motion they would want to get something out there asap before casual listeners start to fade. It makes sense to start broadcasting from the compound and eventually move to a central location in NYC. This also falls into their plan of franchising the show.

If both of them need to keep working for the next 10-15, the best spot is together. I dont think they were considering breaking up prior to this, so why would this change their willingness to work together?

I'm not knocking anyone by saying this, but I think its funny how the show breaking up really demonstrates why it worked as the unit that it was. Everyone (myself included) harped on Opie all the time about how he was dragging the show down and didn't fit in, and now that the O and the A are no longer joined by the "&," nobody has any faith in the individual members of the show to succeed on their own, and for good reason.

I'll probably listen to a little LFTC, just because I like Ant, but I don't have faith in his ability to build the show into anything other than a middle of the road videography of a rich piece of white trash ranting from his xenophobic platform with his jailbait "co-hosts," just like its always been.

I'll listen to the Opie and Jimmy aftermath a little, just because I want to hear how they handled it, but I don't trust Opie's ability to bring up topics with only Jimmy to bounce off of. The shows when Ant wasn't in in the past have been among their most mundane, because they didn't have Ant's energy to keep them at the right level.

I'll watch a little of Jimmy's Vice show because I like Jimmy, but I KNOW that his interviewing skills are mediocre at best, and his solo performance work was never as strong as his work on the radio (his books on the other hand are hilarious, by far the funniest books I've ever read).

O&A was a perfect triangle that got broken. That's it.

Any just tweeted about the possibility of a poolside 55 gallon drum challenge... That's a little promising, but I'm pretty sure ustream puts the kibosh on nudity.

I think Anthony is smart enought to realize he's going to have to pivot LFTC a little bit to cover more topics if he's going to make it work. It's gone from being a hobby to a Job
