Congratulations to all the people that helped spread it around all the different places, saw you guys everywhere, great work

If 10k just turned off one sub that's 1.56 million in loss, if avg sub has two radios it is 2.4 million.

I have 2 subs and a internet sub. Cant wait to get some cash back. Fuck sxm

I highly doubt even one third of these signatures cancelled their subs. SXM has over 25M subscribers. Even at 10k cancellations, it represents a miniscule portion of their customers.

How cute, even with highly exaggerated numbers this means absolutely nothing to Sirius.

Anyone know if Sirius have said something about all the cancellations? Its hilarious

Imagine how many more people are gonna be complaining on Monday. All the people that aren't as plugged into the internet, social media, etc. I imagine with the holiday weekend a lot of people prolly checked out and hasn't even heard of it yet.

Tuesday actually. They will hear Worst Of and think nothing of it.

That's why I think the protest should be friday...

I love this recurring idea in this subreddit that there is a meaningful number of satellite radio subscribers who happened to be off the grid for the last six days.

It's been a holiday weekend for many people - if I wasn't a part of this sub on reddit, I would have no idea either.

Yes, a small number people check out of electronic media entirely over long weekends. I just don't think that will translate to a spike in complaints on monday. Maybe I'm wrong. Given some of the crazy shit people have speculated over the last five days I don't think it's all that big of a deal one way or the other.

I think there is a percentage (I'm not sure if it's 50/50 or what) of people that listen to the show but aren't on Twitter or reddit, etc. I only know about this from Reddit... and I don't think that a huge percentage of listeners are active here. I think word is spreading, but nobody I know that listens had even heard when I let them know.

I listened for many years, I've been on reddit for many years, I only subscribed to this subreddit a year ago. I have heard no news of Ant's firing anywhere else. I know its out there, but it has only reached me through this subreddit. If I weren't subscribed, I'd be the listener you call off the grid.

I only know about it from reddit. Didn't really see any of the blogs it was on our anything.

I posted this to Reddit. I screwed up the link, but I'm new and apologized, but the numbers jumped up immediately. The Reddit community has a LOT to do with it.

Everyone on Reddit take a moment to thank yourselves, now go spam this site pests..

Imagine if people put this much effort into: leaving the house, working, pussy....

What the fuck is the point of this? You're trying to petition a company to what... force them to hire someone back? That's an idea a child would come up with.

[deleted]

Except that no one petitioned Sirius to force them to fire him. They chose to do that on their own.

[deleted]

You understand I'm using "petition" in the formal sense of "creating a petition," as it's used by the thread starter, yes? Not just sending a tweet.

Either way you have to be grade-A retarded if you think this is going to make any difference. Your mistake is in thinking this has something to do with racism or public opinion. Sirius is happy to dump Anthony because OandA don't make them much money. If they were big money makers there would have been a suspension or nothing at all.

Sirius knows much better than anyone here does how many people use their service, how many use it primarily to listen to O&A, and how many subscribers they stood to lose by this action. They factored that all in, and they didn't care.

You people sound like someone who got dumped by a girl and are now saying, "Well guess what, I'm going to stop texting you now, what do you think of that?" They don't care.

[deleted]

yes, we both agree it's not going to work. which is why I don't understand why you're falling all over yourself to justify it.

Sirius is ABSOLUTELY not losing from this. They wouldn't have done it if they thought it was going to cost them a cent. You have ZERO idea how business works. They're dropping a costly, antiquated "talent." They're doing it FOR their bottom line.

haha, you think they're doing it because they hate racism? You're adorable.

[deleted]

Sure, I'll give you a business lesson. If Sirius thought they would make more money by keeping him on the show, they would have kept him on the show. They would have suspended him for two weeks or fined him or whatever else their contract allows them to do. They know the listening habits of their subscribers. They completely understood people would end their subscriptions over this. You're not surprising them. They took that into account.

You're talking out of both sides of your ass, on one hand you're saying Sirius is going to lose money from this, then you're saying, they're a business and all they care about is money. I agree with you on the second part. And no, it has nothing to do with "boycotts" or any of that bullshit. That's 8-year-old thinking, right in line with this meaningless petition. Get it out of your head that this has something to do with racism. That's the excuse they're using to get rid of him. Sirius dumped him because he's more expensive than he's worth to them.

Goodnight!

You retards actually signed an online petition?

Right? Doing nothing at all is so much better. What do you advise? Give us guidance.

You said it

You should change your strategy to something other than the most slacktivist, ineffectual, self-congratulatory strategy- online petitions.

You left out hipster.

hipsters gonna hipst.

Only ignorant people cite the 1st amendment when defending Anthony.

The 1st amendment is designed to sanctuarize what is considered to be a God (or Providence, or Nature, etc., if you prefer) given right to free speech as much as legally possible. While this particular instance does indeed not infringe on the 1st amendment per se, it remains it still violates the spirit of that constitutional law. Had the Founding Fathers foreseen the totalitarian & terroristic menace which has come to dramatically curtail (a process seemingly unfortunately far from being concluded as well) free speech in America today, one can confidently assume they would have enacted even more stringent protective legal measures on free speech in the Constitution.

.

I meant "constitutionally ignorant," not "ignant."

You realize that the reason ant got fired was, people were unsubscribing from Sirius XM, to maintain their image they fired him. Freedom of speech does not free you from consequences.

Where are you getting that people were unsubscribing after one day on some shitty news sites? You're making shit up.

Right? Doing nothing at all is so much better. What do you advise? Give us guidance.
