Sirius Stock Price

Hate to say it and be that guy, but to the people mentioning this...

It isn't going to be affected by Ant's firing. Its a 20 billion dollar company.

Would love to be wrong because that would be amazing, but in reality it ain't gonna happen.

I'm an investor in hundreds of stocks, and I've frequently seen stock prices take a 25% hit for the flimsiest reasons.

This. Somebody in the financial press needs to report subscribers jumping ship because of Ant's firing and SXM's stock price will go down at least 10%. Buy on rumors, sell on news.

Their stock price is shitty low as it is. $4 a share? I could wipe my ass with their share certificates.

$5 is a "magic number" for stock prices, because a lot of institutional investors are literally banned from investing in stocks that are under $5. This is to prevent them from investing in 'fly by night' penny stocks.

You can do a 'reverse-split' to raise the stock price, but a lot of investors get nervous when companies do that, because doing a reverse split is a huge indicator that a company is in a death spiral

Ya. In the post-AAPL surge world, everybody likes high share prices. PCLN still hasn't split.

Hey genius, APPL just split a few months ago. Its trading at 94 bucks. When are you appearing on CNBC tomorrow?

I'm too old to get into faggety message board wars. You are smart and know everything. Is that what you want to hear, faggot?

hahaahah, nah just that your a complete moron who doesn't know what the fuck you are talking about.

That's right. And you're so smart. I'm real jealous of you.

Ummm the price of a stock has no bearing on valuation. The market cap does.

A 20 billion dollar company can have a stock price of 4 dollars, and a 5 billion dollar company can have a stock price of 100 dollars. The 4 dollar stock is worth 4x as much.

Hey, dumbshit, market cap is share price times number of shares outstanding.

Hey you moron, THE STOCK PRICE IS SHITTY LOW AS IT IS: $4 A SHARE?

You wrote that, yet still can't grasp stock valuations and how the stock market works. % are important u nimrod.

So short the stock put your money where your mouth is.

this is all confusing we need boardroom jimmy to clarify this

If share price doesn't matter, then why do companies do splits and reverse split? You're fucking retarded. I guess no, technically speaking it doesn't matter, but it still plays a role in the mind of individual investors. Do you get a hard on over penny stocks because their market capitalization is $50m despite the share price being like $0.50 or some shit?

Most of my money is in target date ETFs because I'm too lazy to manage it daily. If I knew Morningstar or TheStreet or CNBC was going to report that SXM was losing customers because of Ant's firing, I would short their stock right now. The stock market is super fucking fickle to any amount of news. Some Apple executive takes a fart and AAPL drops 10% by midday.

Your too dumb to logically explain stuff to. Stocks split for various reasons. So sell your etf and short the stock, or heck borrow money to short, the stock is going down 10% because Anthony Cumia got fired. How fucking dumb are you.

The stock market is fickle-no arguments there, but if you think stock is erasing 2 billion in market cap cause the 3 million dollar a year host got fired your don't understand basic economics.

Penny stocks are delisted from the major exchanges if they consistently trade over the dollar mark.

To sum it up, you nincompoop, you can make 10% of your imaginary money in a day, but your not going to because your too lazy??? So either your a moron who believes the stock is dipping 10% tomorrow and don't want to capitalize, or your just a fucking moron.

Are you retarded? I said if I knew the financial press was going to report subs were quitting because of Ant, I would short.

I already see 6 stories on his firing on of the biggest financial news site aggregators.

So when are you shorting?

It's sad that you are being Downvoted. They don't want to put their money where their mouth is.

I'll just take my stock tips from you, mmmkay?

It would be hilarious if Anthony shorted Sirius the minute he was fired, and ended up making millions on the short

That's what they are paid to do. If O&A had that big of an effect on market cap of a huge company...they would have been making a lot more money.

Im an owner of a few thousand shares of SIRI and I am dumping tomorrow at the open, not only because of what happened to ant, but because I honestly dont want to own a company that I cant agree with on a moral level of what they stand for these days with free speech and all. SIRI was supposed to the place where radio personalities could go and say what they want regardless if you agree with them or not. I see Ant's firing as a huge warning sign to any "edgy" comedian or personality who is thinking about signing any type of contract with them. I see the majority of them going for the podcast route totally bypassing SIRI

We know listening to the show that Sirius is a nickel & dime company. They are also losing money on installing radios in new cars with free subscription trials not being renewed. They will feel cancellations from long time subscribers.

The firing of Anthony may not have a direct impact to the Sirius stock it will bring to focus other ways to obtain content for far less than what they charge. As part of an OandA fan I began to listen to the joe rogan, bob Kelly, florentine, etc podcasts. Some of them are hit and miss but still provides me hours of free content to enjoy at work, in the car, etc. If Anthony can find a way to deliver real time content for a reasonable monthly price and the options of podcasts those will in turn impact the Sirius stock price.

You buncha pencil neck geeks how about earnin a livin go pick up a shovel go put on some boots what do i know

I agree this isn't an Enron situation but as a person look at the fundamentals of the balance sheet. Netflix is at war against amazon prime and a whole host of other streaming companies they are winning because of content!! Do I think the stock drops bc a couple thousand ppl cancel... No! But sirus xm is a subscription drivin service that at the present time is winning because of its content. Netflix shares would drop emensly and they said they were no longer providing proprietary programming. Other companies would beat them in a streaming service pissing match... And without quality content that's proprietary sirus xm is not much different than pandora or iTunes Radio or google play... Commercial free music will not win.... You need proprietary content Blackberry practicly cornered the smart phone market Kodak invented digital photos Few slip ups and your yesturdays news....

Last quarter $SIRI added 173,000 new subscribers. NEW subscribers. There are only 11,000 signatures on the change.org petition. I'm guessing only half those sigs were actual subscribers. That amounts to only 3.18% among new subscribers alone. It's not looking good boys :(

Short it if you can afford to though. fuckers.

Serious question: are those new subscribers net or gross? Do they have 173,000 more subs than they did last quarter, or is that the number before they subtract out cancellations and lapses?

Also, are those paying customers, or do they count every radio that's in every new car with a free year as a "subscriber"?

According to the article I read in marketwatch, a large portion of that number is from new car sales.

Yeah I've been saying SiriusXM is circling the drain and such but in reality they've made some smart contractual decisions lately, Ant's not included.

Nobody wants to hear it.
