False outrage deserves a false apology.

I really wish O&A would understand that. They spent so much time hounding on celebs with their apology clock, that I can't help but feel that it hurt them in the end.
It's not about freedom of speech, it's not about being a bitch, and it's not about placating people. The vocal minority are emotionally unstable lunatics and the only way to shut them up is to give a bullshit apology and move on. So what if it's not sincere? The outrage over the incidents isn't sincere either.
Would it make O&A hypocrites? Yeah.
But in the long run, I would rather have Anthony apologize and continue to fight the good fight for years to come on the O&A show, rather than stand up for free speech for a moment and fade into obscurity.
Just my two cents. If the show ends, it ends. I can't see a podcast being a viable alternative. O&A can't maintain their current quality of life on a podcast salary even if it was #1 in the nation.
At least we have old content to last us for years to come.
Punching out.

If there were 3 years left on their contract instead of 3 months then I'm sure as fuck he would be apologizing
