I hate to post howard links here, but this is the kind of stuff he got away with. The double standards are astounding.

It's a classic howard bit. He made his name on this kind of stuff and it's the reason he is famous.

This is kind of pathetic. Just stop. It's over, Johnny.

uhh.. how about no?

Well, O&A got away with this kind of stuff, too. Just not on Twitter. Twitter is where you have to be most careful.

It's not even twitter that's the problem. The difference that one is offensive comedy and the other is serious opinion. This clip and the other Hoo hoo clips are obviously tongue-in-cheek humor. It would take a lone nutter with a ch1p on their shoulder to see it as racist.

Stern has said some things in seriousness that could be considered extremely offensive, too. Ant obviously has said things in seriousness on air that are just as bad as what he said in that rant. If he had gone off on this rant on air, they'd probably be okay. Plus people get lambasted by the media for jokes all the time, too. I see your point and agree there's a difference, but putting that shit online is still Ant's biggest mistake, other than being a racist in the first place.

I agree that twitter makes it far too easy for people to stick their foot in their mouth.

Edit to add: And if you can't use an alias then you can suffer inordinately for your mistakes.

They look out for eachother. Yes that is racist. And yes that is true.
