I think the whole Monday show (if there is one) should be a black comedian doing nothing but talking shit about white people for four hours. Wonder what SiriusXm would do about that.
The show seemed to have stagnated a little recently. With this format they will have near total freedom to come up with amazing material. OandA unleashed. Better then ever before.
seriously, something like the youtube genius @ VideOandA would be incredible in real time with webcams on the guys and the guests. I would pay $10/mo to see the show with a video element.
Nice. I just listen to that show on Youtube because it's easier. Never payed for or used satellite radio. But I'd definitely support them if they made a podcast.
I have no doubt that's the way they will go. maybe not with Jimmy but Opie and Ant have enough bucks to do this without too much hurt to their lifestyle and they can do it from anywhere.
I'll even ship them a shitty Microphone so they can reminisce on old times with shit gear at sirius
A lot of that time was filler anyway. Maybe a sharper focus will make a shorter show even better. They won't have TIME to constantly take Lady Di calls.
I've always felt the show was best and Opie was best when they had too much to do each show and Opie was always having to move it along or get it back on track. When they have too much to discuss, it's awesome. Otherwise, it's drag ass and filler.
Them doing that as a podcast would be overkill for the average listener when you consider all the other podcasts out there. Unless they really cut down to an hour a day.
That was a pretty telling tweet. As much shit as we've all given various members of the show, I've never felt stronger in wanting the 3 of them to stay together. If its a premium podcast, I'll pay.
Breaking News?? He never said anything about Opie. I think Ant could go a lot further without him. I think Ant with someone like Jimmy, Dipaolo, or Steve From BayShore could be great!
So would it be advertiser funded? People don't pay for podcasts. Maybe free live shows and latest downloads, with pay-for-archives?
IMHO, Op and Ant have banked what they need to be financially comfortable, and they value freedom of expression over the big bucks now. A podcast (even if it had only modest revenue generation) gives them that.

They'll let it go on for six years then fire them when the media finally notices.
4 omninode 2014-07-04
They should play that clip of Patrice and Louie talking about the origin of kike and nigger on a constant loop.
3 evadcobra1 2014-07-04
Patrice bestof?
1 freshmozz 2014-07-04
Probably fuck all because it won't get picked up by all the media outlets. Sirius only cared because they were forced to.

Or stagnate even moreso now that they won't answer to management. I remain hopeful! Positive futures!
1 satnightride 2014-07-04
Lol. You think management is what keeps people creative?
2 omninode 2014-07-04
Not exactly, but pressure to maintain subscribers and justify your contract probably helps.

Leaving a dying medium to start the same show using a newer, more artist friendly technology?
Hoo Hoo Hoo I invented that, Robin

this is a defacto confirmation friend. Not only that the towel is not bring thrown in, but the team remains together.
Edit: After that tweet he addresses why jim and gregg havent responded. Possible gag order.

I remain optimistic then.

The only problem with a podcast is us NOT getting 3+ hours a day.
