Speculation on what the Opster will do?

So boys, now that it's officially the Opie show again, what will happen with the Opie and Anthony Station?

Do you expect Opie to stick around given the other issues they've been having with Sirius? Or is it time to move to podcast format like they've been talking about for years?

3 months of shit radio until the contract expires. They will probably gag him from commenting on the situation.

Say what you want about Opie but he won't agree to a gag. He's got F-U money too.

This. The next three months will be total dogshit radio except for possibly Anthony retrospectives. Then Opie will move on to guest appearances on shitty reality shows.

I don't know...he's onto something with those viral videos.

Do you think he can even carry the show on his own?

Absolutely not. It would be exposing for him to do 60 shows without Ant. He's nothing without him.

Sirius doesn't directly employ O&A, they pay their corporation, and the boys are employees/owners of that corporation. The devil is in the details of the contract between their corporation and Sirius. It may be that one person can be kicked off the air without terminating the contract. Or it may be that they can only be fired in tandem. Nobody knows except them and Sirius (and probably Jim).

Well Opie has been talking a lot about wanting to move to the burbs', I could see him moving back to Long Island and doing the Opie and Anthony show from Ant's basement. Spend the 3 months till October getting his family ready and stuff like that. They'll probably get terrestrial offers for decent money, more then they'd make in podcasting. Enough stations are doing terrible that they'd throw O&A a few bones to see if they can turn things around. Q104 in New York is the last rock station, WPLJ is hurting in the ratings with Todd so I could see them doing a format flip. In a perfect world O&A would do morning terrestrial radio remote from Ant's basement for two hours and then switch to uncensored on Ustream format for another two hours.

I'm guessing that Opie and Jimmy are contractually obligated to keep doing the show for the time being. I think they've said that their contracts are up in October. So who knows what's going to happen after that.
