Anthony Cumia was an employee of Sirius/XM Radio. I guarantee that he signed a lengthy contract which spelled out in legal language that he can be fired for misrepresenting the image of his employers in public.

He joked about how long the meeeting was, but the fact of the matter is that when his little rant became public (and again, that was the second he put it out there for everyone to read), lawyers were contacted to see if there was cause for termination under that contract.
The attorneys representing Sirius/XM don't give a flying fuck about the assault, the woman involved, or the bloggers. Their job is to protect Sirius/XM from liability. If there were any legal recourse for Mr. Cumia - any financial or legal liabilty for the company if they fired him - they would not have fired him.
This may be hard for you to grasp, but this was a legal and business decision which has absolutely nothing to do with the blogger in question.
