I hate to see him go. I loved him on the show. But, he wasn't really an achiever in life. He was high school dropout, tin knocker and general underachiever who fell into a great lucrative job because of Opie who had worked hard to become a radio professional. I understand that he helped build the show, but he would never have done it on his own.

I think this is where much of his anger, paranoia and sense of entitlement comes from.
