He'll be black listed [so to speak]

In 2014 you cant say black people are not human. It's what hitler said about the jews. It's funny and great stories about their other suspensions and fireing, but being fired for saying "They" aka blacks are "not human" aka Untermensch, which was a term created by hitler.

It doesn't matter how you personally interpret it. The majority of people will think he is referring to all black people. That is the only thing that a company like SXM cares about. And you're being ignorant if you think Anthony's rant wasn't racially motivated. I love him and will continue to listen wherever he goes, but the dude is not a fan of black people.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Being assaulted doesn't give you a free pass to tweet anything without consequences. Anthony went much further than acknowledging her race. He implied that black people are not human and that they are animals. And he used one incident to generalize about a group of people, which is the definition of stereotyping. Those are the two things that got heat and got him fired, along with his history of race opinions.

I think Ant should be allowed to say those things, and free to stereotype all day long. But Sirius XM doesn't want to be associated with those traits, so they fired him. Predictable outcome, shoulda seen it coming.

You don't see any implication in his tweets that SOME black people are animals? Even if he was specifically speaking about urban, black people in that area, that is still enough to offend people nowadays. When he tweets "They aren't human" and "ANIMAL" and "I hope a gang banger shoots you in the FACE", those are specific to her as an urban, black person. He is referring to her specifically, but his insults are phrased in a way that denegrates black people in general. He wouldn't say them about a while person.

If a person was insulting a jew and said, "You're a hook-nosed fucking cheap piece of shit!" "I hope your business partner swindles your life savings!", those would be anti-Semitic remarks because they are playing on Jewish stereotypes. Even though the person isn't saying ALL Jewish people do this, or even mentioning religion, the implication is obviously there.

You're being intentionally dense. His insults were targeting her race. Even Anthony would readily admit that. I never used the world "all". That was your choice of words. Racists rarely target the entire race, they target a specific segment and use it espouse their philosophy. Anthony was using her as an example of a bigger problem in the black community. He made it about a large group instead of targeting his anger at her. Therefore, he is the one that put it in the context of race and fucked himself. Has nothing to do with social justice, just basic common sense. IDGAF about social justice. I wish that Sirius XM had balls and would keep him around, but they don't so he's fired.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.

But he also specifically referred to them as "black" and said "There is a deep seeded problem with violence in the black community" which was most certainly about all black people. He took things too far. Flew too close to the sun.

I do mean taking things too far for the company. No company is going to want an employee out in the public eye saying racist shit. Once that gets all over the news the company has no choice but to take action because they have shareholders to keep happy. If SiriusXM saw the show as still being a big money maker for them they wouldn't have fired him. I think they just saw this as an opportunity and they took it.

Because in the same string of tweets he did generalize about all black people being violent. That opened the door to let people assume that all of his tweets were about all black people. Not to mention a few of the websites did a little digging and pulled up old clips and quotes from the show and LFTC where he is bashing black people and talking about going on niggermania.com and such. The whole picture builds up to make him look like a pretty big racist.

The tweet said "there is a deep seeded problem with violence in the black community! address it and you get exiled to racistville." Just look at one of the fifty websites that has all his tweets posted.

It doesn't really matter. He can play semantics all he wants. When you look at his full body of racist work it doesn't paint a pretty picture. He got to comfortable cause he always got away with saying whatever he wanted but too many people saw these tweets and it got away from him. I don't understand why people put themselves in that sort of situation. Just stay off social media until you calm down and none of this would have happened.

No it isn't. The first amendment protects you from the government enforcing a law against your right to speak freely. The government can't throw you in prison for saying shit. A private company, however, can fire your ass. If the government came in and fired Ant and threw him in jail it'd be a first amendment issue. That's not what happened. You can't be a capitalist society who wants private businesses to make their own decisions and then get upset when they make decisions you don't like.

I see your point. However its the long term effects that are troublesome. Once it becomes accepted that what you say and do when you are not at work affects your employability, it's just a matter of time. And I would argue that in a lot of aspects, we are not capatalists anymore; more of an oligarchy. Well argued point on your part
