Just so I'm clear, I'm not saying he should (or shouldn't) have gotten in trouble, I'm just wondering since I saw this in the comments section of one of those Gawker articles. I mean, it's a totally insane viewpoint if it's still something he truly believes, but it's his right to say it if he wants.
I don't listen to Howard, nor do I care if he is pro- or anti-gay. I'm just curious if there was as much outrage commensurate to what Ant is getting right now.
I actually wanted to post this as a separate topic and didn't, because a lot of people on here are nutcases, and this issue is getting a little too overexposed, but Stern has literally said everything that Ant has said except for "cunt" and "they aren't people". If there's interest on the part of more than one person I will pull audio and post it here. Stern has actually said even worse things in some respects. The problem is that if you post anything Stern related on here, people downvote it automatically.
Yeah, that's a good example. Stern has definitely said more outright and offensive things than Ant. The problem is that Ant hasn't really created a position for himself in situations like this - Stern always has had a response and could turn even his worst critics around.
Not really. A lot of Stern's old shows from start to finish are on Youtube. He's not the godless liberal that people portrayed him to be in the 90s, nor is he quite the obsessive self-promoter that people claim he is.
The disconnect is astonishing. There's a far cry in saying you think all gays are out to get you, to calling EVERY black person an animal or savage when one person does something to you. That's the thing some people don't get. People like me would be gung ho in support for someone like Anthony if there wasn't that constant bullshit involved. I'm black, well part black. I've been a fan since NEW. I love the show. I've never committed any crime or done anything wrong to anybody. But I still get grouped in with what other people do. I get shit from my own people, then I get shit from other people. So fuck all of you. All I want to do is be a decent person listening to a radio show. Then I have to hear this general widespread indictment. I'd be 100% on his side but I get stabbed in the back in the process.
