I think the writing was already on the wall for them to possibly not get signed for another good contract. Now when they don't sign a big contract they can blame it on this "PC media" shitstorm instead of having to say "our show has been sucking lately and Sirius didn't want to pay us what we feel like we were worth." It's actually a kinda more respectable way to be shoved out the door.

To be honest I'd rather him issue a fake apology to appease all the social justice warriors and then openly undermine his own apology on the show. It just sums up what a pointless nonsense the "apologise now or you're fired" culture is. People don't want apologies or people to learn from their mistakes. People want to see people they dislike suffer, lose their jobs, lose their homes, break up their marriage and generally lose everything they're jealous about them having. Only then will they feel satisfied that they've been "punished". Two days later they've forgotten about it and moved onto the next outrage, while some poor idiot is trying to put his life back together.

I think he would quit before he ever did that. Honestly, Sirius seems more and more like a sinking ship and they could probably make a cool living with a premium podcast instead. It's more about getting Ope and Lil' Kimmy on the same boat, since Jimmy is trying to transition into mainstream and this is really gonna muck up the works.

There's no way they will. All we have is Ant's version of the story, which is mighty suspect, given his history of raging against blacks and women. His "friends" have nothing to gain by coming to his defense. Look at Louie - he is being killed by his show association in the Gawker comments...
