I like Jim Florentine and he was awesome today, but his "too cool for the room" act sometimes gets old.
It's OK Jim: you can admit you liked watching the US/Portugal soccer game ("I only watched it because nothing else was on and there are no commercials). 22 million Americans also watched it, so no-one is going to take your man card away for admitting that the game was good.
I don't take it seriously at all, but it's funny. Especially how he affects the people around him. Opie clearly was affected by him not liking chocolate. It's funny, and entertaining but don't take Florentine seriously on anything haha.
Some of my favorite shows from the last year or two have been shows without Jimmy. Bonus if there were no or minimal guests. Not a bash on Jimmy, however - it's just a different dynamic.
I don't think it's an accident that Anthony & Soder struck radio gold last week while Jimmy wasn't there. I don't think they would have had the room to groove if Jimmy was there.
I like Jimmy, but I think I'd like him more if he was on less; make his appearances more of an event than a daily occurrence.
And I would love to hear Anthony uncoupled from Opie. The more I listen to Anthony, the more I think he's a really gifted comedic mind; he's fast, he's funny, he can do impressions..........I think the (next?) show needs to serve his talents better, because between all the comedians he gets lost in the sauce (!) all too frequently.
If its Ball to Hand, there is no handball call. If it is Hand to Ball there is a handball call. If the player blatantly moves his arm or hand into the path of the ball to divert or stop it, it can be a red card, which is a game suspension. A fine, however, is highly unlikely.
AC/DC is not saying "She's nigger on a one way ride". Enough with that shit. You really think no one in 35 years noticed the word nigger in Highway to Hell? The lyric doesn't even make sense in the context of the song.
