Complaining about Opie complaint threads is the real problem with this sub.

Obviously OP doesn't listen to the show. The personalities are so sociopathic that anything they do is okay but anything done to them is criticized. The population here thinks they are part of the show so they latch on to that and you aren't allowed to criticize the show.

The problem is, Opie is human. He has the capacity to be anything, and he will be nice and he will be mean. No one is going to be consistent, they will eventually have an off day and get angry, combative, or be a general dick.

This forum and any forum centered around the show is a reflection of the show. It will come in the same proportions, but like with anything you will only hear about the things that get attention.

You're not going to hear about the friendships that came out of liking the show, the tailgate parties that didn't involve pussy-eating or the late nights at bar 9 because rotgut or 2U closed it out.

You're gonna hear about the shit that is on the extremes of the spectrum because it gets attention. So you're going to see the really disgusting stiff more often than the uplifting. Opie goes on vacation, and all I saw were people trashing it and making fun of it because "it's in good fun". But what about opie's feelings? We are going to get what we put into the show too. I can't agree with any sentences in there. And why is because it appears this phone call was in 2005 and the internet was not what it is now and you could very easily insulate your self from any negative stuff about yourself except maybe you might here "you are stupid".

There is a thickened skin we take for granted we all have now from watching other people being torn to fucking shreds since 2005 on the internet , twitter, youtube all of which didn't really exist in 2005. Back then you may here "you are stupid" and anything else you could easily insulate your self from. Also being called stupid is something you could easily shrug off if a radio DJ called you that but if you are naked on giant screens all across the entire world and you view your body one way and think others view also in that sexy way and then someone says "your boobs suck" ya it's highly likely suicide would enter the mind in that occasion.
