Tom Papa was good today

I think this is the first time I actually enjoyed his appearance on the show. It's amazing how the presence of any comedian seems to really lift the energy in the studio.

I like Papa.I don't know why there is so much hate for the cunt.

Most of his appearances involve trampling over jokes and trying too hard. He was really laid-back today.

the last couple of times on he has told some good A-lister stories,Seinfeld etc.

Don't forget bad impressions!

He usually does that really high, falsetto singing voice to tag EVERY joke. That and he will do a callback to the same joke over and over. It's not that he's not funny. He's usually just hyper and exhausting.

b/c he sounds too effeminate and comes off a li'l "mysterious"

Same here. I know he isn't as good as the regulars, but he brings a different dynamic to the show. The boys are a bit more fun and playful when Tom comes in

Explain why you like him, or die where you stand.

His terrible travolta impression was hilarious. There's a bit. Have you seen his standup, he kills.

Did anyone else notice Tom Papa humming the guitar riff from Anthrax's "Indians" while they were discussing the Redskins?
Nobody commented on it but I think Tom Papa referencing thrash metal is cool

Also when they mentioned Japan, he said "I really think so". I think he was referencing the song Turning Japanese

Agreed, Papa was actually good yesterday. The stories about his wife hating LA were funny.

I didn't mind him this time around, but I just don't think he's a very funny guy. He doesn't have that quick wit ability to keep up with Jim and Ant like a Dan Soder, Kurt Metzger, Louis, Gervais, Jim Jefferies, Colin Quinn, Bobby Kelly, Bill Burr, Patrice, etc.

My introduction to Papa was Superbeasto so I'll never be able to hate him the way so many here do. That's lifetime pass material in my book.

I really don't like him on the show, but he was EXCELLENT in El Superbeasto. He should do more voice acting.

The animation was great, the story line was shit though. I didn't hate it, but it should have been better considering all the people involved.

That cumrag is the REASON i hate that guy.

Pump your brakes. He wasn't terrible... like he usually is.

I really grew to hate Tom Papa in 2012 and 2013. He had this thing where he would repeat the punchlines of bad jokes as if to see if the others would acknowledge what he said and it really grated on me. Even I have to say he was not bad today. Dare I say the show was actually good when he was on?

YAH HA HA HA HA REPEATING HA HA HA

I've just never been into the guy. For every comedian friend of the show I can think of at least ONE memorable bit. Normally I can think of more for guys like Burr, Patrice, CK, and Vos. Tom Papa's appearances are just forgettable. There's never been a bit that he's involved in that I can remember. If there is then I don't remember him being there. I just don't get him at all. I'd rather have one of Roland's celebrity guests come in.

I don't like Papa. He can be exhausting, and his forced laughter is awful.
1 MartyVanB 2014-06-20
Tom Papa is fantastic on the show.
0 bambonk 2014-06-20
Thats why i didnt even bother with the replay. If anyone cares, he was also in that Rob Zombie abortion 'el superbeasto' and not a single fucking frame of that thing was worth a laugh. He must suck one mean penis because I don't know how he gets work.

Tom Papa is automatic tap out for me, one of the very few guys that get me to do that. His incessant cackle and good-natured jokes infuriate me. I also hate when he laughs along with everyone at very inside-show references and you know damn well he has no idea what they are. (Instead of just going "what's that from?" like anyone else would)
1 alrighthamilton 2014-06-20
Or he realizes he's on a radio show and doesn't want to stop the conversation every other minute so they can explain the inside jokes to him. More people would complain about that than if he just goes along with it. Every guest does that.

How many Morgan freeman impressions and Seinfeld stories?
-1 [deleted] 2014-06-20
I used to like Dan Soder when he first started coming around, but all he does now is tag all of Ant's jokes, and try to "add" to them. I tapped out the other day when he was on, like "can't take this dude anymore."
Linger Longer-ers, remember when Pablo Francisco would come on in the WNEW days?? Holy shit. "TAINTED BLOOD..." He was terrible!
