I didn't even call in with a medical question. I just was following up on a previous topic, and I got a text message thanking me for the call. I was definitely not expecting that.

Dr. Steve is awesome.

I was browsing /r/all the other day and saw a post to /r/DrSteve didn't realize he has his own subreddit!

He takes his medicine very seriously. If something extra pops into his head about something he has discussed he is compelled to let the person know or he feels like he has failed someone as a medical professional.

I've e-mailed Dr. Steve about a few different things ranging from an odd medical issue I was worried about (he was hugely helpful on that) to the equipment/software he uses for his podcast. He's surprisingly responsive for how busy he must be. His show is great too.

He knows a shitload about physics as well. Dr. Steve is a really bright and informed guy. I don't how people like him don't end up working for evil powers, making shit tons of cash on barrel head.

Because even benevolent smart folks work out of self interest.

He helped me out personally too. He's a really great guy. I work in health care and most doctors are complete assholes. He's such an incredible guy.

Cool to hear. From the show, he seems genuinely interested in helping people. Particularly his attitude on how general practitioners should be doing more in office rather than wasting everyone's time and money by referring everything to specialists. If he opened up a practice by me, I'd be in there in a second.

Dr. Steve is one of the most awesome people I've come across. I sent him an email with an issue at like 11 PM and he emailed me within an hour or so. He really goes above and beyond to help people.
