If we are talking about stuff Opie has ended behind the scenes look at Uncle Paul, ever since Opie had kids Uncle Paul has all but left the show. Now all we get is a little uncle paul chuckle or laugh. We haven't had a proper Uncle Paul outburst in a long time. Suddenly Opie didn't find it funny when he had kids.

Chip is way more likeable than Opie

I don't think Chip was consciously based on Opie, he's based on unfunny dumb guys who lie to try to make themselves sound cool, and Opie just happens to be one of those guys.

For a while Opie refused to acknowledge Chip, and he would point it out and say that was his part of the bit. Like we were all listening, marveling at the comedy team Norton & Hughes. "Ha ha! He doesn't acknowledge Chip, and then he points out that he is not acknowledging Chip! This is almost as funny as when he would say how many minutes he was going to be angry about something."

Also "Mafia Chip" was a direct response to Opie claiming he worked for the mob and refusing to just say what it was, like he was an insider and could get someone in trouble or something.

There have been rumors and claims from people like Danny that Ant makes fun of Opie with his friends at the compound and has a nickname for him. I'd love to hear what it is. Jim has been known to attend Ant's parties and marvel at his drunken repetitive rambling. So it's a remote possibility that outside the show Jim and Ant have acknowledged to each other that Opie is terrible, or at least Ant drunkenly might have to Jim. Jim is eternally grateful to Opie for getting him a job on the show, so I don't think he would ever openly criticize him.

Probably as much as he based Uncle Paul on Ant.

I'm pretty sure there are more characters than chip, Edgar and uncle Paul. When he first started talking about chip it was in 2009ish... When he would talk to his girlfriend as them. I think Edgar has a brother and there was a woman in there too. I'm pretty sure it was the same girl that did the chip podcast... When they broke up he started doing the good boy phone and the naughty boy phone bit. Hard to believe he fucked it up with such a hottie... Well maybe not

Because it used to be fun and there's still entertaining threads from time to time plus I am a fan of the show? You know this used to be a place where fans would come and talk about the show, make show references, and laugh. I thought that's what this place was for. You know fans of Opie and Anthony. I was listening to a clip from 08' and fans were calling in and bitching about the same stuff they do now. The show hasn't changed one bit. Most these assholes that say the show has changed started listening in the last couple years.
