My prediction for where the show is headed
0 2014-06-06 by AiCPearlJam
I think the guys will keep their Friday's off into October. Nothing will change from there on out and Op will lose it again and not resign along with Ant and Jim. They take a year or two off and write a book/do occasional podcasts/appear in shows like Louie. After two years they'll start their own subscription based ($8 a month) daily live web series/podcast that will include Jimmy's advice show, Sam's show and other Riot Cast live shows like YKWD, Legion of Skanks, and Davey Mac Sports Program will be available On Demand. Fans will rejoice and the show will return at full force.

They will sign, be reinvigorated and do good radio for a while, and then lose steam and phone it in again for the remainder of the contract. The usual.

I don't think they'll even be reinvigorated or do good radio. I'm really beginning to think they're gonna phone it in from here on out. Still, I hope to be surprised.

I wonder if there will be any big promises come October. After 20 years of service they're bound to be rewarded for all those days they 'went long'. Buckle up fellas

My prediction is they will be pussies and resign in October and by November threaten to not resign again in 2016.

Exactly.
When you have a job that allows the bare minimum out of you (for a few easy hours a week) while keeping you a multimillionaire, why in the fuck would you do anything else?
I could see Jimmy taking off at some point, but Op and Ant are gonna stay on cruise control until SiriusXM ends the relationship.

I hope soder takes Jim's place if that happens. Please god don't let it be joe derosa.

I hope SiriusXM goes out of business before then.

I think Ant and Jim need the money too much to stop anytime soon
3 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-06-06
Need, or want?
4 obdm 2014-06-06
Need, in order to keep the lifeStyles they have. I most likely am wrong

Jim makes a lot from touring and appearances (all that combined is decent), but needs the exposure more than the paycheck at Sirius.

Ant wants, Jim needs.
2 BoardroomBimmy 2014-06-06
No, Ant NEEDS. Bad. He needs dat monay so he can keep livin nigga rich, makin it rain on preteens and Danny.

Opie too, he's got a nice apartment in the city, a wife and 2 kids. I think Ant and Jim actually need the money less than he does. But they all have enough where they could still live comfortably with or without the SXM show.
1 WiretapStudios 2014-06-06
I don't think Jim would be selling as many tickets, etc. if he didn't have the constant exposure from the show. I feel like he needs the show the most (he's said it too).

That's wishful thinking but I hope you're right.

Yeah I'm just trying to be hopeful. I remember last time when the show was REALLY bad, then they renewed and it felt like some new life was breathed into the show. I don't hate the show, but it's not must listen anymore. I've just been listening ti Best Ofs instead. Haven't listened regularly since the Lady Die internship.

I don't know how much they would charge but I only paid for Sirius to listen to them and I only steal Sirius now because of the toxic environment and Stern cocksucking

if it plays internationally then that would be good, i'd be willing to pay and i'd be happier knowing that the money is going to the guys who deserve it.

opie just confirmed on his twitter that these are just vacation days. relax.
3 opiesucks 2014-06-06
I like that theory, expect I'm hoping Opie goes mute somewhere in that 2 year break period.
3 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-06-06
Holy shit, if Opie would shut up for 4 years it would be magnificent.
3 producerdan 2014-06-06
They'll never make anything close to what they make now selling $8 subs.
3 banehardens 2014-06-06
They can not afford another two year break from radio, the fan base will just not be there.
2 Insomnia423 2014-06-06
Youre crazy if you think theyll do anything other than resign with Sirius.

That suck up Sam will never go to a podcast, he's a company ass kisser, and a lifer - he'll never leave Sirius. He probably thinks he'll get the channel by default when O&A leave, he doesn't know his future is Dennis Falcone's - programming shit channels for low pay.

OP is wrong.
1 phlammo 2014-06-06
They'll NEVER leave the platform and do a podcast together. This is it. Whenever they stop this (maybe October) there will be no more Opie and Anthony.
They may get along - but they don't really have a friendship beyond what they maintain at work. And nobody on the show is really putting any effort into keeping that fresh because they've got their subscriber base and they get paid whether it's good radio or bad radio.
Further proof that there'll never be a podcast ... how the heck would Jim get the equipment into the city?

Your prediction would require them to work harder for less money. It's not happening.
