Show downloads vs. POS Sirius app
3 2014-06-05 by [deleted]
I am a paying subscriber, and I use the iPhone app to listen to the show via on-demand as I'm on the west coast and listen later in the day. One thing I know is that the Sirius app chews up a lot of data, and while I'm on an unlimited data plan I wouldn't mind cutting back that usage. Do the non-paid downloads chew up as much bandwidth? How big is a day's show size-wise for those?

the shows I "get" are around 118MB and include the pre & post shows. I would says if you dont have unlimited data this is the way to go.

I stream it from my phone like you 5 days a week and haver never even come close to breaking my 2gb of data plan a month. (I'd say I'm on wifi maybe 25% of those days)
I tried the downloading bit when I didn't have a steady job but it was too much of a pain in the ass.

You can download to the device via the app. Do that where you have wifi connectivity then listen wherever.

Pre and post show included usually under a hundred MB
