I listened to the misheard lyrics podcast...why did the fanbase hate that so much? It was pretty funny.

And I'll never unhear some of those. It was a rare, actual, bit that wasn't a defense mechanism and it worked.

I hate it when people just 'You're an idiot' and not explain; Everyone LOVED the misheard lyric bit, there were multiple shows applauding Friday's show and that's why they turned it into a podcast less than a week out of it. I've made multiple references on un-related posts about the show saying how funny that bit was. It was a SMASH hit, one of the few shining moments this year.
Given all the above, you're an idiot.

Because the dickheads in this Sub aren't happy about anything.
Here's a novel idea, if you hate the show so much, THEN STOP FUCKING LISTENING!

I believe most people here like the show, but there are a large amount of trolls that like to chime in more often than most. The best way to handle trolls is to ignore them. For some reason people forget "ignore bullies and they will leave you alone". The Internet is the one place where it actually works.

I thought it was funny. I think the biggest criticism of this bit is that Howard literally did the exact same bit like 5 years ago when Artie was still around.

The "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" thing is a morning zoo radio bit that started before either show - like back in Manfred Mann days. Neither show invented it.

When I was 10 that's what I heard, they're stealing from me!!!!
3 RatherPleasent 2014-06-05
Really? Well I wouldn't think that O&A stole it. It seems like something you could stumble on.

Probably so. Here's a link for context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8fpYOgRVZM

Definitely coincidence, I think it might be funny to try and get it on the air to piss them off

Yeah but don't mention it or that was the bit and they'll call you an asshole.

Who hated it? It was the only good thing they did all week
7 dankfranklin 2014-06-05
I actually haven't really seen any negative comments about it, not really sure what you're talking about.

I enjoyed it along with everything else Gregg, Tony, and James come up with
4 NoirMagieGateau 2014-06-05
I've seen a lot of positive comments regarding the segment.

Some are funny but they really need to drop the Highway To Hell thing they keep wasting time on. For fuck's sake. "Duuur.... 'Season ticket on a one way ride' doesn't make sense!!"
And shoehorning "nigger" in there does? Sure, guys. Sure.
Can we talk about the lyric "She had me circumsized, tellin' me no lies" from Shook Me All Night Long.
1 buttriot 2014-06-05
I'm a big opponent of Opie but in this case, I truly think you didn't get the bit.
1 [deleted] 2014-06-05
I was referring to jimmy specifically as he's the guy that kept saying the season ticket lyric didn't make sense but what's the bit ? Why did it deserve so much time across multiple shows?
1 [deleted] 2014-06-05
I didn't hate it, but it's borderline morning zoo content.
I think a lot of people are like me, we miss the show from a couple years ago, they're turning into what they used to make fun of.
3 buttriot 2014-06-05
nigger on a one way ride is morning zoo?
4 [deleted] 2014-06-05
Specifically, no, but I've heard the misheard lyrics bit a million times on the local rock stations for decades. It's FM morning radio staple.

My favorite one

holy shit, that one was crazy

Most of the comments I saw were positive. I liked that segment. As other people are pointing out, it isn't exactly a new idea, but it was funny and the boys were high-energy during it and not treating the callers like assholes so it was great. Also, was it during this segment that a caller retorted with "eat my ass!" to the guys? That was hilarious (and also stolen by Jimmy during his rant about the baker who wont sell cakes for gay weddings).

How about this: people hate different things, when the thing people hate happens they are the ones bitching. When a different thing happens, a different group hates it and they pipe up.
1 Karl_Dilkington 2014-06-05
I saw a lot more positive reviews than negative ones. Where did you see hate?
1 buttriot 2014-06-05
I saw some posts about them spending an hour on the bit. Thought they were negative.
1 Karl_Dilkington 2014-06-05
Meh, every bit is going to have some haters even on the best shows. The majority of listeners loved it
1 CokboyDeluxeJr 2014-06-05
I enjoyed it. Listened to it once at work and liked it so much I played it again at the gym. Fuck the haters
1 mancubuss 2014-06-05
I loved it. I love when it's the core group and they get Into these weird organic bits

Fans of O&A are miserable cunts, myself included. Even good things have flaws and I need something to talk about/a reason to be talking.
