The "apology" bit.

Fucking enough already. Jesus Christ. I'd rather listen to another week of 90 Day Fiance talk, or more Roland food bits.

I liked the 90 day fiancé shit

"ciggy breath"
1 ToothGnasher 2014-06-02
I got absolutely addicted to that fucking show. Ciggy-boy is a cringe goldmine and the Brazilian girl is as cute as a baby turtle.
1 Moh7 2014-06-02
I follow pow on twitter.
The amount of dissatisfaction I would bring that girl would be depressing.

YUCK
10 Moh7 2014-06-02
What, was there anything better then ciggy breath trying to get with someone way out of his league.
I loved 90 day fiancé because it reminded me of how pathetic I was when I first started dating. I could relate to the shit they were saying.
-7 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-06-02
You're still pretty pathetic now, sitting on ass at home, feeling superior to others, partaking in Opie and Anthony discussion, et cetera.
8 Moh7 2014-06-02
I'm sitting at work tho.
I'm getting paid to write this stupid shit

Don't even joke about more Roland food bits.
13 mr__hat 2014-06-02
They tried to make it a thing that would get them some attention from other media. Seems like it's not really happening and they should just abandon the bit.
8 Wsallgood 2014-06-02
...and apologize.

Waddle doodle
3 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-06-02
Are you sure? Let opie check his numbers before you make statements like that! It might go viral!
4 mr__hat 2014-06-02
Go fuck yourself.

This subreddit is so weird and schizophrenic. Hating Opie isn't cool anymore?
13 DeryDerpette 2014-06-02
I think the bit would be better if they opened the show with a quick update on the apologies that have been made and kept it in the form of a 60 second or less headline.
Not every one of these needs to be made into an hour long conversation full of the words 'fight back', 'embarrassing', 'scumbags' and 'despicable'.
11 producerdan 2014-06-02
I don't mind the apology bit, it's when they just watch TV I get frustrated.

"BREAKING NEWS...people in positions of power or the entertainment/sports industry will apologize publically so they can keep making money....MORE ON THIS STORY AS IT UNFOLDS"
8 Wolfhoof 2014-06-02
What's so bad about it?
5 MartyVanB 2014-06-02
After every apology they say the same thing over and over
8 dankfranklin 2014-06-02
I like the sentiment behind the bit, but I hate that each apology requires at least 45 minutes of reiterating their same points over and over and over again.
7 TheRadicalMan 2014-06-02
I like it. You want porn stars and zany stunts?
6 [deleted] 2014-06-02
No. I don't oppose the idea of having a deep and intelligent discussion about the hyper-politically correct state of the country. The thing is, every person inside the studio is utterly incapable of that. Anthony is delusional, Opie is a dolt and Jimmy is clueless. Hence the same 3 points being made over and over again, for days now. If making dick and fart jokes is what you're good at, why not just play to your strengths?
1 TheRadicalMan 2014-06-02
Opie is dimwitted, Jim is sharp yet lacks adult knowledge. Anthony is seemingly biting his tongue and knows how dumb (general info) they are. Regardless, they have balls to be the only major medium that addresses this issue. It's a dopey radio show, not a TED talk.
6 Abarf 2014-06-02
I agree to a certain extent, they arw just pointing out news stories and saying how bad it is, but not really taking it to the next level.
They are also guilty of the very same thing multiple times and have lost most of their balls becuase of it..
-2 Thier_2_Their_Bot 2014-06-02
Hey Abarf! Nice to see you again. Hope all is going well!
See you around Abarf! ;)

tsss asshole robot..... nah, fuck it
5 JCP_1975 2014-06-02
At least Opie and Anthony have NEVER apologized for shit they've done, said or haven't said, otherwise they'd be hypocrites.
Oh, wait.....

They've said, multiple times, that they did that under the threat of firing if they didn't.
That was also when Hugh Panero was the CEO of XM, and the merger with Sirius was undergoing regulatory approval. The big wigs were concerned with it affecting the merger and as a result they had to.
They've also said (multiple times) that they ddidn't mean a word of it and the whole apology was bullshit from the word go.
7 [deleted] 2014-06-02
Wouldn't that be a valid excuse for the people they're mocking.
5 CUNTYMOM 2014-06-02
exactly but OnA make their own rules, if they apologize it's cool and funny, other people are just grovelling fools, not OnA.
but ive been sick of the PC before this apology clock thing, i totally support it and agree with them but i see and hear about PC shit all day the last thing i wanna do is hear about it on a show that makes me laugh and makes me forget about the shitty world.
plus they cant even get a bigger studio, so what makes them think this is also making an impact, sadly we are the minority and most of america is offended and a bunch of faggots that wanna complain, its trending in their direction not ours.
3 spaceshipsix 2014-06-02
I don't think they fault the people apologizing as much as the overly-sensitive interest groups and frightened corporate management. They understand apologies are necessary in order to keep a job. Their point is that the culture we now live in requires an apology to prevent getting fired. They despise the people that get outraged at everything and make it their job to complain about every little potentially harmful statement. They also hate the gutless people that listen to those outragers (company management). The outrage culture we live in is the problem, the apologizers are just trying to survive.
1 GleepGlorpFloopdedoo 2014-06-02
Yeah, I thought this was the whole point of the bit. They goof on some of the apologies, like the ones that are obviously just written by some PR hack, or the ones that are just absolutely meaningless, but I thought the whole point was that they were sick of people HAVING to apologize for everything.
5 JCP_1975 2014-06-02
So what makes them different than anybody else who apologizes? They were forced to make a meaningless apology, twice. Do you think the recent apologies from most celebrities are sincere and done so on their own admission? Hells no! They are protecting their financial interests and their brand, just like Opie and Anthony did when they apologized. No difference.
1 Spokker 2014-06-02
Its not different. They point out that these apologies are not sincere.
4 MartyVanB 2014-06-02
The apology bit is much better than the 90 day fiance bit (AKA O&A and Jimmy watch TV)
2 [deleted] 2014-06-02
Someone tell Harry Shearer they're stealing his copyrighted bit from Le Show!
2 BumbiBestie 2014-06-02
Sorry sorry sorry ... Yrros yrros yrros
2 [deleted] 2014-06-02
It's one of those "we get it" things. We get it, the media is full of pussies, we get it that everyone is too PC nowadays. Is it hurting you? If not, move on.
2 opiesucks 2014-06-02
i put all the blame on Opie.
2 tibber2 2014-06-02
Quit GROVELING you BABY!
2 Spokker 2014-06-02
They are going to play the audio anyway and discuss each incident. All they are doing it wrapping it in a thematic way.
2 ixcuincle 2014-06-02
Well I'm glad I haven't heard the last few days. There is way too much PC shit in this society, indefensible blubbering and apologizing for minor things. That being said O&A have always done this...but not every day...and not ad nauseum
It's a tough issue because the political correctness has to be exposed, but it's also taking over the show fodder.
2 present_day_memories 2014-06-02
It takes up maybe 10 minutes out of the 3+ hours of each show. Who cares.
0 havingmadfun 2014-06-02
10 minutes? ya sure about that?
-1 BoardroomBimmy 2014-06-02
Firsht of all, bullshit. They usually take up half of the show.
Second, even if it was 10 minutes of each show, that's still way too much.
1 present_day_memories 2014-06-02
Really... they take up an hour and a half per day doing the apology bit? If that's how you perceive time you really don't have enough going for you in life. Get more hobbies.
