ya that's a great point. I think he tries to be too serious in his standup, when all of my favorite stuff from him are his characters and silly rants. Although it's gotta be tough to translate that improv styled sillyness into a coherent standup set.
Silly, random Jimmy is 1000x better than cringe, dirty Jimmy. When I first started listening to the show, I was so annoyed at all the "JIM'S JUST SO BRILLIANTLY FUNNY" that I actually disliked him based on that alone. He's easily my favorite of the three now. Grocery Man, Investing his money in Laser Disc Storage, Mongoose, Your Baby Is Dead, etc. Just great, random humor. Way, way, WAY better than the stand up he use to do (still does, but not as much) about how perverted he is and how everything sucks and all that hack cringe humor shit...
