I've always pegged him as having an episodic mood disorder, such as Bipolar I or II. The drinking in his youth was his first round of self-medication. The use of prostitutes is most likely when he is transitioning from hypomania to mania and has poor impulse control and increases pleasurable activities. He also has a few compulsion, but not enough for a second diagnosis of OCD or OCPD. Most likely these are anxiety-based rituals or thinking errors (magic thinking) that have becoming part of his being as a way to ward off the depression. Who the fuck knows.
