They started hearing numberssss from the podcast comics, hearing about lots of money... And realized that podcast comics' "lots of money" is nothing compared to what they get.
Weather they like it or not, Sirius is their ONLY option. Podcasts means they have do all their own work and it does not come with any guarantee pay.
Opie always threatens leaving and has done so throughout his whole career, he just amps it up when negotiations are coming up because he thinks this gives him clout to ask for more money.
I doubt he even gives a fuck about a new studio, just uses it to demand (see beg) for more money in his next contract.
Are they though? A new studio and a contract for many dollars may just sway the multimillionaire to stay. Him saying the company is shit and they're done unless things change is nothing new.
They're not going anywhere honestly, they can't make this money anywhere but terrestrial and they're not going to accept the restrictions, it's just a play to get the bosses worried (but they know they're not leaving either)
Whoa whoa whoa. You mean to tell me that after all of Opie's bitching and complaining about S/XM he intendeds to remain there when his contract is up? I do not see how this is possible given that Jimmy keeps saying they are stuck in mud etc. I am just gobsmacked.
It would be cool if they actually did leave, and started their own production company. With all their money they could create a fairly high level company from the start, and create good material with their views of free speech for everyone.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but my guess is that he's not and he's just setting himself up for the complain train.

That's it. He knows he can get a solid 2 hours of material their first day back by acting pissed that the studio wasn't upgraded.

Opie expects you to change if he acts like he's leaving. Just like bitches do.

I don't understand. S/XM is a horrible place to work and has the show stuck in mud. Of course they are leaving.

They will be movin into Sterns studio when he retires end of this year. So there will be no renovation.
Maybe that's why they keep piling in people for super shows, showing they need the space

But that requires work. So it'll never happen
