"Handsy"
0 2014-05-17 by FrittataSlabs
Just recently got XM radio and listening to O&A. Today im listening to the recap from yesterday and this guy who goes by the name "Handsy" iirc, calls up and start going off. Cussing them both out and going on about 9/11. I didnt get to hear the whole thing, does anyone know this guy or have a link to the call? He said he called the Howard Stern show regularly

It sounded like they (Opie in particular) were pretending not to know how to pronounce Hanzi. I haven't listened to Stern in over 5 years and I've heard the name a shit load.

I think they genuinely might not have known who he was, but once he assumed folks knew him, they started goofing around with his name and shit.

Yeah, I definitely got the vibe that they were pretending to not have heard of this guy. I also don't listen to Stern regularly. I usually just check out a clip online if he is interviewing somebody I like. I have heard of Hanzi just from doing that. They are in the business, and have personally blocked the guy on Twitter so I'm thinking they knew what they were getting into when they took the call. Opie goes over the top with his acting when he's trying to pretend he doesn't know who somebody is.

I've barely listened to Stern in the last five years and I'm entrenched in O&A culture, and I have never heard of Hanzi until he called in.

Well O&A don't typically bring up Howard's regular callers on their show. If this kid was tweeting them and calling their show I'm guessing they knew who he was. He can't get thru a sentence without talking about how he's affiliated with Howard so I'm assuming he even told whoever was screening calls at the time about how he's a Howard regular and they passed that info on to O&A.

It seems like the first time he's called the show. And if he's got that same shit personality in twitter, he probably tweeted them about Howard being better. Instantly blocked.

They block plenty of people on Twitter. No reason why they would remember this one.

It's a combo of reasons. Between that, and the person being a regular caller to Howard and out of all the calls coming in they just so happen to put him on the air for 20+ minutes? And then Opie going overboard pretending he can't remember how to pronounce his name every time he referred to the guy as "henzi" instead. They knew who he was and they were acting like they didn't to fuck with him.

I took Opie's fake pronunciation as trying to discredit Hanzi. Like Ron Swanson calling people by the wrong name on purpose to make sure they don't think they're getting too chummy.

Correct name is Hanzi. This is the full call and this is his Twitter.

Yeah I heard him on Friday while listening to the Thursday show. He sort of sounded like a Canadian Bobo. Kept stuttering
