My first instinct was to call her a hack. But then I realized I haven't seen her act for awhile, so that wasn't really fair. So I watched her on YouTube here (don't bother), and here's what I saw.

• pandering unironically with a local reference to open, check

• zany dancing, check

• pausing and rolling her eyes immediately after her "punchlines" so the audience knows when to laugh, check

• talking about the dress she's wearing, check

• saying 'don't judge' 47 times, because that's what people want to hear, check

3 minutes, 20 seconds in I had to pull the ripcord. She's not a hack. She's a pandering hack.

I think her stand up is horrendously bad,but I think she's funny conversationally and I liked her on her reality show.

She's like most female comics. They go right into their manic rhythm that they can't control and steamroll everybody else. However, I think if she came in for a long stretch with O&A, she'd get comfortable and probably fit in just fine. Yesterday, Tammy Pescatelli was a total mess for the first ten minutes or so but once she calmed down, she did really well. Kathy Griffin would be the same way.

I have this "Learn Manners" videotape from 83 that she is in. I can't find any information online about it, but it's totally her, and she's credited. It's terrible and sloppy and stupid. I tweeted her about it and she never responded. She was even uglier when she was young, if you can believe such a thing.

They spoke about her on the first show back in '10 while talking about Dick Clark's New Years show. Opie also posted this around the same time. She's been brought up a few times though, they aren't fans.

She's really not a very good stand up. She's shocking for her crowd (middle-aged women) but for the O&A crowd she's not very shocking at all. Also, most of her stand up is about celebrities and not much else. Her jokes are really hack as well. I saw one special she did a few years ago that was full of Clay Aiken gay jokes which was like 8 or 9 years after he was on American Idol. Way to be timely Kathy! Just awfulness.

She's a good writer. "Everytime Oprah gains another pound, it's like a hug from Jesus."
