Opie and Anthony fight
2 2014-05-03 by TheRaulRangel
The day Opie and Anthony got into the fight, that led to Op taking days off, is there any audio? If not anyone know what the fight was about? I know it was the around the same time Danny was fired.

Ant had a hissy fit at F.H. Riley's because he had to wait for a table, and he didn't get his drinks comped. He made a stink about it on Twitter.

I heard he gave the maitre d 20$ and the guy just said "thank you thank you! very good specials tonight" and didn't give them a table.

I thought it was because he was trying to use the payphone but there was a guy on it for a really long time. He was trying to call a girl or something.

Yep. And I heard that as soon as he left they called his party. Such is life.

Ant was waiting for a phone call and was expecting the host to yell out "Cumia".

Who's Cartwright?

oh yeah I remember those tweets, so Opie was in the right on that one.

I side with the Opster.
Tho I can see where ants coming from. They advertised FH like crazy for a long ass time for free and it's ants show too.

It's not just that they plug FH constantly. They were doing some kind of fan meet-up bullshit that night and had to wait hours for a table, drinks, or any other shadow of service.

Yeah, Ant wasn't asking for a fucking 5 course dinner, he wanted a table to sit at and a beer to nurse. And he's right, it's fucking ridiculous that they treated him that way when they know without Ant both F.H. Riley's and the Opie and Anthony show would be a lot less populated with fans.

We don't know the whole story. Maybe the host didn't recognize Anthony. Maybe he was new. Maybe they were completely full and Ant only had to wait five minutes before he started bitching on twitter.
No matter how much promotion he's done, there's no question that Ant was acting like a baby.

Yeah I think it was very unnecessary for Ant to trash FH Rileys on twitter like he did (I've got them buried somewhere there were 2 from memory). Brett got pissed at Ant and tweeted Anthony if he had contacted him at the Kitchen it would have been sorted, but there was a full house and (I think) the staff didn't recognise Ant. No doubt Ant deserves the absolute best service there, and Brett or anyone who knew what was happening would have sorted it, but Ant in my opinion took the wrong course of action. You don't trash a business partner's business. TL;DR: Ant . . . Those tweets were unnecessary.

Hardly a hissy fit. You would think you would be able to get a free drink and not have to wait if your partner owned part of the business and you are half the reason it's packed in the first place.

Was it an O&A fan night or was it just a regular night? If it was a regular night, maybe Anthony's picture wasn't passed around recently so not everyone knew to give him the white glove treatment.

Anthony was always at FH Riley's. He should have had his own table reserved for him.

Ah, no.

Great rebuttal there, champ.

Complains about welfare, whines like a bitch when his drinks aren't free.
6 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-05-03
Think of all the free promotion they gave F.H. Riley's. Ant said many good things about them on air. That free advertizing is worth more than a few of Ant's white trash drinks.

I don't even think he cared about being comped. He just wanted a reserved table and that's not too much to ask. The appearance was announced in advance and that led to the crowds. Had he been comped, his tip would have covered all drinks and meal. If he's anything, it's not cheap.

That is a bitch move by Ant. Cheapo.
1 LizardKingRumsfeld 2014-05-03
Nah, F.H. Riley's is the cheap party here, but when do you expect from an establishment run by the Hughes? They are the cheapest family this side of the orient.
1 UnclePaulHarghis 2014-05-03
Nah, I have friends live in Huntington and they love FH's. Ant just did the wrong thing. He deserved good service, but he shouldn't have trashed the business.
2 miamiron 2014-05-03
anyone have a clip or know the date?
3 dochattan 2014-05-03
It wasn't an on-air fight. "Ant and I had a fight and Danny got fired.. good morning" was the only mention of it.

December 10 2012 There is some info in the description and mystery in the comments. Also the comments discuss Jim's opinion on anonymous commenting online.

Without Ant, Opie wouldn't have never became successful enough to be able to afford a restaurant investment. Cheap fucks couldn't spare some drinks and burgers? It's not like Ant went in there demanding Dom and Caviar. I side with Ant and validate his feeling of being offended. If Ant owned a restaurant it would probably go broke because he seems like the type of guy to constantly comp the meals of friends and family.
10 TheRaulRangel 2014-05-03
Yeah but without Opie Ant would be banging sheet metal still.

But yes you're right, he would. It's a weird symbiotic relationship where they are both failures alone, but together they evolve and succeed.

Shitting in sparkle buttons.

I don't know. Wasn't Howard using Ant for some voices? Andrew Dice Gay?
2 TheRaulRangel 2014-05-03
Yeah like one time Ant was on the show but he may have already started with Opie.
0 Jig5 2014-05-03
Ant was on for the Jackie impression contest during the WBAB days.
