How long is this going to go on?!

29  2014-05-01 by DoubleGuns

So I was listening to a clip from sometime in June last year when someone mentioned that Roland had been talking about these new things Cronuts... Then I realised it's been almost a fucking year and they're still talking about Cronuts?!

Almost a year of Opie making the same point that the Cronut-guy could make more of them every time!

And now they're mentioning every single new 'invention' that the guy comes up with?!

Is this really a big news-story in the US?

If it weren't for listening to the show I don't think I would of heard of these fucking things... Do other shows over there discuss Cronuts, too?

Not bashing or bitching, I know some probably find it interesting. I just don't get it!

...maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe.

Ah the answer to every complaint about the show. "You obviously don't understand the show."

Even though a good Jocktober bit would be a montage of every inane mention or bit done regarding cronuts - all of which lead nowhere.

Telling someone that something is a bit is like telling someone that you just told a joke. If you have to say it, it was probably a dud.

THAT's the bit!

Did you just call them a Chew?

This cronut bit makes me ask "what's Tom Pappa been up to?!"

That stretch where he was a semi regular guest was hard to listen to.

Indeed

No. Nobody here has heard of a cronut or gives a fuck. That 'foodie' shit is just some elitist New York crap. Nobody who isn't a cunt actually acts that way or signs up for pastry newsletters. Also, only the fattest fuck alive makes best friends with the guy who makes his donuts. Jesus Roland.

There is no going back for Roland. He is beyond repair in my mind. That band wagon, show ruining, inept, obese, obnoxious, simpleton PUSSY! I joke about horrible ways for him to die, but his enlarged heart will explode due to his own actions. Fuck 'em.

Can't want for the Dominique Ansel interview

It'll still be better than Roland's Food Court, which started out somewhat interesting, but quickly turned into a room full of food snobs who like to point out how much better they are than the general public. I wish someone had rolled a hand grenade into the studio during that shit.

Has anyone here even had a cronut from his bakery? Just seems like a flaky donut to to me. NY has a way of over-hyping things from NYC.

I've never had one but I'm sure it's good. I have been to good bakeries and good pastry is fucking amazing. Not worth talking about on the radio for years and years, but yeah, pretty good.

Just go to a gas station. They're everywhere and nothing special.

Cronuts are the gift that keep giving. Who doesn't love baked goods talk?

Is this Steven Knight's alternate account?

I just pay no mind to the cronuts thing.

Never understood it, never will.

Are you saying he should just get over it?

Shut the fuck up

Certainly does sound like he was "pitchin' a fit" wasn't he.

"Bitchin' a fit"?

No one I've talked to in person has ever heard of a cronut. And when I explain it - they don't give a fuck. Same with me. It's just some NYC obsession that makes it easy for the boys to kill time with on the air.

They should totally have Tom Papa and Cronut guy in along with a call in from Bob Levy. It'd probably be the greatest show ever.

Neh no, yeh yur leh loying

Oh yeah? Is it reasonable?

They have to find some way to break into that valuable local radio market, otherwise todd wins.

Rename the podcast, the O&A Toddcast. Appeal to the local mom who wakes up at 5 to get her kids to school

And include a bunch of Jimmy doing fake prank calls with his Todd voice. "Hey. This is Chumpy McPushinpork..."

Thought the same thing after Dominique was brought up again today, bakery discussions are the worst.

the only reason it is a recurring theme on the show is because of the schadenfreude associated with seeing a business person leave so much money on the table.

No, it isn't. It's a recurring theme on the show because Roland brings it up constantly. He just sits there looking at cronuts online, writing poems about them, tellings guests about them. He's a fat fucking mess.

Do you think Roland rubs icing on his nipples before inserting his pecker into a microwaved cronut?

That's what it SHOULD be about.

I wish Opie or one of the guys would spend a few mins discussing why the cronut guy doesnt make more of them. Would be a good break

The cronuts guy was shut down for rats.

After a year, I still don't know what a cronut is. But I do know that I hate Roland.

Cronuts are a hellofa drug.

holy shit... its not about the cronuts! Its about Roland!

I too despise the word "cronut".

When the ad buy runs out.

I'd honestly rather hear them talk about cronuts for three hours rather than going on and on about race and politics day after day.

I choose neither.

As indicated above, we recommend that you use “think I would['ve] heard” instead.

Its a bit just because you don't like it you think they should just stop it. Not considering people might enjoy it you selfish bag of shit. You are not important. If I don't like a bit I just listen and wait you go on reedit and make it like they are killing babies on the air.

However annoyed I may be about things that are on the show...

You are substantially more annoyed about someone talking about things that are on the show.

Good day, sir.

Good one I see what you did there mr laid back
