Bob has way to many cool stories to waste time on shitty kid bits.

Then why do I always find him to be a complete bore? I've asked it before and I'll do it again.... can someone give me a clip of this guy actually being funny? I've yet to laugh at anything he's ever said. He's a fat, try-hard, irritating dope and he is one of the few things that makes me completely lose interest in the show.

Youre not meant to laugh with Bob Kelly, youre meant to laugh at him. Thats what makes him funny.

I don't know, I thought so at first but my friends who have kids hate being away from them even for a night or two. I work with a guy who was offered an all-expenses paid trip to London for a week, but he didn't want to go because he didn't want to be away from the kids. I said, "but it's London! You should go! Why don't you want to go?" and he said "I just don't want to miss time with the kids."

I don't have kids either, so I don't really quite get it, but I'd wager there's a larger segment of the audience than you all think that can relate to kid talk. Keep in mind that these guys have been at it for 20 years...

edit this isn't to say that this is all they should talk about; I used to look forward to Bobby's appearances but all he talks about from start to finish is his kid.

I love how you listen to old shows and it's them completely trashing kid talk on the radio, but as soon as Opie has kids, bring on the kid talk.

I distinctly remember the day Opie announced his wife was pregnant for the first time. He said that he would "never" bring his kid onto the show because he knows how boring fathers are when they talk about their kid and he knew nobody wanted to hear it.
