No tits or drug use in movies anymore?
12 2014-04-30 by kgt5003
Today when Opie was talking about seeing the movie "Neighbors" he made a comment there was tits and drug use in the movie and this is something you don't see in movies anymore... What the hell movies is he talking about? Nudity and drug use is in a ton of movies. Full frontal nudity is even common these days. Is he confused because of watching too many kids' movies so he assumes that all movies are like that or what?

I miss the 80s, when 'full frontal nudity' meant T&A not D&B

But what about the V?

A nice hairy 80s muff a la Scarface

He's said this about every comedy he's seen since I started listening 8 years ago. A supercut of him saying it would be funny.

None of them see many movies. But they all speak like they do. Ant is the exception.

When compared to the comedy films from the 70's and 80's there's a decrease of drug use and breasts.

I dunno about that. Spring Breakers, This is the End, Your Highness, 21 Jump Street, 30 Minutes or Less, 50/50, 40 Year Old Virgin... that's just a couple comedies within in the last couple of years that have drug use and titties.

Super troopers. Super high me. Pineapple Express. Etc... Idk what the guy is thinking

Not to mention all of those Harold and Kumar movies are literally based on gratuitious nudity and drug use.

A good chunk of these movies Seth Rogen has been involved in

Wolf of Wall Street.

I'm guessing that you are under 30. I see everything; there is a lot less gratuitous nudity now than there was in the 80s.

Yeah it's awkward nudity. It's about making you feel as anxious as the character. It's not a nice relaxing pair of boobs, or drugs being a sign of badassery.
Comedies also love to tack on some message. Even superbad did.

I am 28. That could be the case but in the movies I see there is always some sort of nudity or drug use. Maybe I just have good pervert radar and only watch the movies with tits.

He's not entirely wrong. Big budget movies have cut down on nudity in the last decade. Excessive tits have packed up and migrated to premium cable. On HBO nudity is written in contract stipulations.
Violence, though, is dialed up to 11.

He has kids, the only movies he's watching is Disney and shit. That's why he has no idea what he's talking about.

he's probably just judging by the big budget studio films that pay to promote their stuff on his show.

Too many kids movies and reality/kids television have taken their tool. Poor guy must not even be able to distinguish them from normal movies anymore.

I think there are fewer gratutious boobs in mainstream comedies than there used to be and I think that we as a nation are the worse for that fact.
Certainly are more dicks tho! Thanks, Jason Segal!

Every shitty American Pie movie has had those things for pretty much the last 15 years.
1 [deleted] 2014-04-30
Also who would want to go to the movies with that fat piece of shit?
1 dazwah 2014-04-30
Especially Seth Rogan movies. Has there been a Seth Rogan movie that doesn't involve some sort of drug use?
1 roguephilosopher 2014-04-30
I'm pretty sure it was a paid plug for the movie, not his real opinion.

He goes home and watches "Transylvania" on repeat with his two spoiled kids. His view in entertainment has to be skewed.
0 pekingoose 2014-04-30
jesus fuckin christ,Opie slams Sandler movies and says this is great!?!
0 Shabotly 2014-04-30
Remember when they trashed "This Is the End" because nobody from the movie came in. Then they talk about how funny awful movies like "Your Highness" are.
3 KingGeorgeIVE 2014-04-30
They had Seth Rogan in, and they told him they loved it.
0 xBrianSmithx 2014-04-30
I think he means comedies. He has also said that it has made a comeback.

I don't take movie advice from Opie. First of all just like Ebhagz said movie looks awful, Seth Rogan stinks, and Zach Efron sucks.
3 BlueScreenOfDer 2014-04-30
Did you see This is the End? I thought it was hands down the funniest movie that came out last year.
0 [deleted] 2014-04-30
No I have not. I heard it was really funny I got to watch it.
-2 maynardsabeast 2014-04-30
Being that its rated R you look stupid to judge the Movie based on the previews. You sound like idiots criticizing opie for liking a movie that HE SAW AND YOU DIDN'T. Last time opie enjoyed a comedy was THIS IS THE END, which indeed, was hilarious. The movie also has high imdb and rotten tomatoes ratings. Soooooo until you actually see it, you should probably shut your stupid mouths
2 kgt5003 2014-04-30
Woah... who is talkin shit about this movie? that's not what my post was about.
-1 maynardsabeast 2014-04-30
Sorry wrong guy. Other people were. Shoulda directly replied to them. My apologies sir
1 kgt5003 2014-04-30
Hey, no worries. We're all just throwin the ball around, am I right?
-7 [deleted] 2014-04-30
Ohhh literal KGT. I think he means there's less titties and drugs, which is impossible to measure but probably true.
Maybe you need to take a break from the show. You're doing your best to find one error in 4 hours of content generated by an out-of-touch 50 year old.
3 kgt5003 2014-04-30
Less from when? I don't know what movies you are watching but nudity has even extended to pg-13 movies now and R rated movies are showing more tits and bush than ever. Look at movies like Spring Breakers that came out last year and was completely saturated with nudity and drug use. He is just making a blanket statement based on nothing. I'm not "looking for shit to criticize"... I was genuinely wondering what the hell he was talking about. If I was just interested in finding "errors" there could be a list of them after every show. I don't care about that shit. I was thrown off by this because to me it seems like the opposite is actually true.
-2 [deleted] 2014-04-30
I'm not interested in debating this with you.
3 kgt5003 2014-04-30
Of course not.. you're just interested and saying I should stop listening to the show because I had a question about something said on the show. You're putting my freedom of speech in chains, sir.
2 ImTheHungriest 2014-04-30
Then why'd you start?
