They were making fun of those stupid advertisements for things like Blockbuster and Netflix, where they have random clips from movies responding to what the advert is saying.

Jimmy says that the clips are "always slightly off", and gives the example "Only 12 dollars!" "Well, uh, I wish someone woulda told me!"

I'm describing this horribly but I'm sure someone will remember this
