I didn't expect all, or even most, to get this humorous metaphor. Even if you pity Roland or in general disagree with the Roland hate, this should still be funny because it does represent the blind group bullying (they aren't fucking with "fat ass" face to face) that this whole thing is about. Maybe I'm the only one who gets that side of it.
