fuck you ive been defending him in every opie hate post, i was glad to see this thread though because he really was great yesterday and it just shows that the show isnt all riding on ant, he adds a ton but opie is fine without him, the other way around no way, ant needs opie or else he's just another podcaster, a shitty one at that, he is a funny fuck but cant keep a radio-like pace going, just a bunch of endless joke tagging.

It's always funny when Vos is in and Opie points out how stupid Rich is. Especially because Opie is basically just a clone of Vos who can speak better.

Opie and Vos have pretty good rapport, they smash each other and Opie is pretty funny when they're together

Vos was on the R/F show a few years back just days before east side left the show, Vos 3rd degreed Davy Mac about Dave’s future plans, Vos showed a side of himself I didn't know existed, he was explaining some pretty good life’s lessons to Dave, I was pretty impressed at the time, from that time on I developed a new respect for Rich, the dumb exterior he displays is a good act

Vos being dumb is definitely played up for the show, and you can tell he plays it up himself. I don't doubt that he's probably a little absent minded, and not very book smart but something tells me when it comes to life advice Vos is probably pretty knowledgeable. He's been through a lot of shit himself, and still managed to make it out the other side. Not many people would be able to pull that off.

He gave Louis CK advice on his divorce that Louis acknowledged as being super helpful. He's certainly not the worst guy to get advice from, apparently.

Soder told me Vos is one of the nicest and most helpful people in the business, professionally and personally. I would love to play a round of golf with him.

Ant is preferable when there's a full show but if I had to choose between listening to just one of them alongside Jimmy it would definitely be Op.

If for no other reason than not having to hear another rant about taxes.

I like how he told his Mitch Hedberg story again, this time exaggerating it to the point that Hedberg was dead "hours later." He actually met Mitch 9 or 10 days before he died.

Well he was dead hours later, even if it was 216-240 hours later.

Do you even pay attention? Opie has over the years many times admitted to hyping stories up for the show. He knows he's doing it. Also, in life most everyone hypes up a story while they tell it. The only difference is its a little easier to catch Opie & Anthony since they're on the radio and talk 20 hours a week, 250 shows a year, for the last 20 years. If I listened to you talk that much I'd find some holes in your life stories too.

Shows like today where Opie actually talks and drives the show when Ant is out makes me think he purposely lets Jimmy and Ant be the funny guys while he plays the straight man. Everyone knocks the guy but he knows radio. Especially when he only has Vos to deal with. Vos sucks a dick.

Great show today, laid back hang type vibe. Vos was quick and stupid which is all you can ask for...also seemed less gunny and racisty to me.

Opie was great today. And, god help me...Vos actually seemed really quick-witted. I guess he gets in lines more effectively when fewer people are waiting to kick the shit out of him the instant he opens that cavernous gauntlet of chiclets he calls a mouth

Vos has always been quick with the comebacks the difference is he usually ruins it by saying something incredibly dumb 2 seconds later.

Opie + Vos is one of the better modified lineups. Ronnie + Opie + Anthony is probably the best, but I REALLY want to hear a Dennis + Anthony show some time, but there's so many folks who'd get the Opie seat before Denny that it probably won't ever happen.

The worst was the Opie + Joe DeRosa show a while back, I'd take Denny + Ant over that. I really want to hear a regular show one day except no Jimmy only Chip the entire show. FAWK YEA.

No, because this is a subreddit for the show, and this is a post about today's show. Your novelty account really is a riot, but I don't think it's necessary right now.

I see it as a response to the overwhelming negativity that Opie gets on here, and most fansites. It's not trying to validate Opie's existence or say, "No see, he said a funny at 7:15 so you guys are wrong!!". I see it as people who are fans of his trying to offset all the negative shit that gets posted here.

Here's my thing. Everyone shitting on Roland because he get's "White Glove" treatment right? Does anyone realize that's what happens everyday with Opie? Why isn't he broken to pieces for selling his shitty Instagram photos. Or that T-Shirt that somehow looks worse than something you'd find on the wall of a Spencer Gifts. Op bombs hard. LOTS. Ruins flows. Interrupts. Has bad crutches. Tells go nowhere stories that NOBODY finds interesting yet they sit there, listen and NEVER CALL HIM OUT. Nobody bats an eye.

I've read enough of people mocking him here that they understand that his "You just don't GET the bit" line actually means "You called me out on my terrible shit and now I'm embarrassed and have no comeback".

To play devil's advocate: Op's a radio guy doing a show next to two really quick comedians (I'm including Ant). He can't not talk, and those guys operate out of his comfort zone so sometimes he looks ridiculous when he talks to remind you he's there. Shows like today are fun because we get to see him control the pace for the whole show.

It seems to me that Opies performance gets nitpicked and bashed almost daily here though. I've seen weekly posts dedicated to how much Opie sucks for the past year so when you say "nobody..calls him out" I have to disagree.

And Roland is low hanging fruit that people know they can get a rise out of. Opie, whether you think is funny or not, doesn't give a fuck and won't give the same level of satisfaction that people know they can get out of Roland.
