Opie is at his best when he's relaxed and upbeat. Jimmy however kills when he's negative.

Opie is very funny and at his best when he:

1) doesn't try too hard (he is naturally, subtly funny) 2) Doesn't feel the need to repeat himself when he does make a funny 3) Is normal and a bit self deprecating.

I think he only released those old clips because the weeks previous he was a whiny self important douche.

He realized his mistake and released those videos and laughed at himself, and 100% redeemed himself.

Now he can go back to whining and being a douche for a bit and assholes like me will be fine with it...until we aren't, and at that point he'll unmine another gem and reset everything.

There's a reason he's at the top.

i have to disagree a little bit: opie is best, when he is replaced by ron bennington.

Anyone is best when they're replaced by Ron Bennington.

That really was a funny show yesterday. Soder is great at the call-backs, and he keeps the conversation flowing well.

The momentum they had going was unbelievable. Usually they need a full studio of comics to make me laugh that much in a single hour of radio. I hope Soder third mics more often.

This line and Soders "school shooter look" line had me laugh fucking hard. Usually I just chuckle a little.

It was a particularly good show. I usually don't like the shows where yimmy is out, but Dan Soder is pretty goddam funny, and Opie was great too.

I think Soder is the replacement 3rd mic for Jimmy, when he hits it big time & he has to miss an extended period of time filming a failed pilot for FX. Or, when Jimmy finally kills himself.

Any day now.

But I don't think Jimmy will pull an Artie.

his self loathing isn't as real as Artie's...Jim actualy thinks very highly of himself. His hair is awful by the way.

I'd love for it to be Robert Kelly, but he may be to big at this point. Can't get over how much Soder sounds like Huey Lewis, but he is a funny guy.

Well, maybe he can loose a few pounds or sumthin.

That's not even funny, that's just a realistic piece of advice for Blobby Kelly.

I'd go for Bobby Kelly but only if they play the clip of him saying "Hold my hand man" from when he hurt his knee playing football with Dane Cook.

I don't find Bawby and his pseudo-techie persona funny or interesting. Soder is way better.

Opie is good for a few good one's a show. The only problem i have is he has to point it out and repeat the line 3 or 4 times in 30 seconds.

We all have friends that have those little qwirks though.

I love how Opie fans have to single out the one funny line Opie had in 3 weeks, vs the hundred Ant and Jim had.
