Sometimes the show just sucks. It can be be too much Jimmy, too much Ant or too much Opie or just a general lack of energy / material, but thats how it is with everything.

I enjoy the old "raspy background jimmy" very much, but I don't mind him now either. Sometimes he has weird views on things but you can't take his take him too seriously.

I don't think any of them is what's wrong with the show. I think they are all dickbags at times, but they are all also loveable shitheads. As much as I complain about Opie being as dumb as Vos, and nobody calling him on it, because he's as big of a baby as Roland, he still entertains me. Jimmy annoys me at times, Ant annoys me at times. I could write a chapter in a book about all of the things that the Opester does that annoy the shit out of me. That doesn't mean that I don't want him on the show, or that I think he's ruining it. If I'm overly annoyed by any of them, I tune out. It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen. But I always come back, because they entertain the fuck out of me on a daily basis, and I love them for that.

100% agree. The best shows in recent memory are the Friday shows with just O&A when Jim is on the road.

Simply put, I still think Opie is what's wrong with the show. However, he's not going anywhere. Changing jimmy out (or reducing him to part-time for insurance reasons) may offer a refreshing dynamic. I'm not opposed to this.

I think everyone on the show has their moments of being annoying. With Anthony, its his political/racial talks with lack of credible evidence, with Opie its general goofiness and the occasional derailment, and with Jimmy it is at times just flat out uneducated and irrational statements regarding the world.

intellectual jimmy is just about the worst thing humanity has to offer, it lacks logic, his opinions are based on childlike ideas and reality is nowhere to be found. I think it's easier to comprehend genocides.

Jimmy use to be great, especially during debates. Recently he's turned into a whiny little fuck. He used to seem very smart on most subjects, weighing them up and taking on board everything he hears and even changing his views because he'd been educated. Now however, I couldn't agree with you more.

Except the plug thing, I don't think he plugs himself too much, once a show I'd say (I might be wrong), but he does make sure the guests get plugged - even during the spat with Ventura he made sure his plug got out there.
