"Jack Black used to do our show all the time, now he....well, whatever........"

Apparently Jimmy met him backstage at Letterman once and Jack "blew him off". Later he trashed Tenacious D pretty bad on O&A. Seems like a sticky situation.

Jim can really be a hurt little bitch. Remember when he basically had a full on temper tantrum because Derek Jeter wouldn't take a picture with him? He started breaking things from the gift bag he was given like a hopelessly vindictive child. This is also a perfect example of how just because a guest was on the show 12 years ago once does not make them a "friend of the show".

My favorite is when Opie complains that Matt and Trey "used to do our show all the time" when they actually just came in once to promote Baseketball or something.

I love jack black his movies and tenacious d. There I said it.

Tenacious D is really funny, and he's definitely a talented dude.

It's too bad he's only been on the show this one time.

They now act like Jack Black and Tenacious D are so unfunny and hack simply because he hasn't done the show since then, but act like Stephen Lynch (another guy who does silly songs) and that ventriloquist guy are great because they still come in to promote whatever they're doing.

Can we admit someone is funny even if they don't do the Opie and Anthony show?

I found another appearance Tenacious D had after this one, and it was really good despite how much they rip on Jack nowadays. The date is November 15th, 2006 about two hours into the show. Opie starts the interview with the line "We only get stars on their way up, and on their way out..." Possibly stir up some shit, but it was a laid back interview and they seemed to get along just fine in studio.

It'd be great if Jimmy didn't get offended so easily, because that honestly seems like the only reason he hasn't been back in (Jimmy kind of solidified that by trashing Tenacious D on the show later). If you watch the "D Tour" documentary, Jack was pissed off because they didn't want Kyle Gass to appear on Letterman with him. That's the night he "blew off" Jim, I'm pretty sure he wasn't in the mood for meet-n-greet with anyone.
