Did the guys ever discuss what happened during "Weinergate"? You know, when Opie tweeted the picture of Anthony Weiner's Weiner?

I was listening to the intro this morning and got curious as to what the news clip that goes "Opie and Anthony got their hands on the photo and tweeted it" was referencing. So I went to Google and found out about it. (By the way, it comes from this news clip.)

I then looked on Youtube to see if there were any clips where the boys were talking about it as it was happening, but I couldn't find anything. I found Ant talking about it on Redeye and found one of Opie's in studio video of the guest they got the picture from, but I couldn't find anything of them actually talking about the controversy and media coverage as it was all happening. I'm mainly interested in hearing their side of the story as to how they managed to get the picture in the first place. Particularly because Breitbart said in an interview that Jimmy lied to him about whether there were any cameras around, but me knowing that there are cameras obviously all over the place in that studio, it would mean that if Jimmy did lie then Breitbart was being pretty oblivious and stupid to believe him.

Anyone got anything on this? I'm assuming they weren't allowed to talk about it at the time it was happening, but I'd also assume that they would eventually talk as time goes on. Just something I was wondering about. Thanks.

Ant held Breitbart's phone up to his PalTalk camera and someone screencapped it and tweeted it. Opie and Anthony then retweeted it.

They talked about it ad nauseum at the time it happened. Breitbart was able to deny responsibility because he didn't personally leak the photo, and Ant and Opie did the same thing and blamed it on whoever got the pic from PalTalk, but in reality everyone involved (with the exception of Weiner) did it for the publicity and knew exactly what they were doing.

Can't link because mobile. Youtube Opie and Anthony Stephen Colbert. It won't tell you much more than what you already know but its pretty great hearing worlds collide

I think Breitbart died of a heart attack while walking down the street at the ripe old age of 43 the following year, which i thought was the icing on the cake of a good bit.

I'm on my phone so I can't grab the URL to the video itself, but scroll down in this article to see Opie's youtube "statement"

It's not a an amazing basketball shot, I swear.

Is this where he made a video of himself wearing the hoodie. I never watched it but the hoodie thing drove me nuts.

Howard covers his face with hair to look young. And hoodies was gonnq be opies way till that troublemaker trayvon fucked it up.

They talked about it a lot in the next few days, and again when that cunt keeled

If I remember right, the day after the pic came out, Brietbart started saying how he was duped by the guys to show the picture blah blah blah doing what he does best and lying about the facts. Or should I say "did" best. Then the boys went on and said how it wasn't there fault, they didn't know it was like that and Breitbart is full of shit. Then they dropped it and started saying how a good guy he was.

My guess is that Breitbart went to the boys after they fired back and said for them to relax, that he LYING per usual, and that the dick pic was going to take center stage. Sure enough, Weiner went on the defensive and talked about being hacked and so on which became the story and the boys faded away...just like Breitbart did a year later that lying sack of shit.

Sounds like a great question for Ron B. to ask.
