something I don't get about the callers

when listeners call in and (as an example) Opie is like, "lemme say hi to Scott" and the caller makes it a point to correct him and say "its Steve", who gives a shit? This happens alot, do the callers really think it matters if their name is correct, or that O&A&J even give two shits? Does this bother anyone else or am I just a fucking good for nothing quay?

I think it's probably automatic, and it's more like "are they talking to me?"

The listeners have to tell them just in case he picks the wrong person. In the past Opie would say, "Lemme talk to Bill" and then John ignores it and tells the story and then Opie says "Wait who the fuck is this? Why didn't you say you weren't Bill? IDIOT!"

I'm more annoyed with how they treat the callers.

They pick up on a guy who's been waiting silently on hold for 2 hours and become infuriated the he's not capable of interacting like he's in the room with them.

Plus they interrupt the callers constantly.

I think the callers correct them if they get the name wrong as a way to let Opie know "hey, you went to John, not Steve" just in case Opie had a particular reason he wanted Steve. Now Opie knows to put the person back on hold and go to the line he wanted (if he did in fact want somebody else and didn't simply have the wrong name).

The latter

For a short stint callers would pretend that the call screener fucked up their names and shit just to cause trouble. I'm sure a few do it now and again.

You're a good for nothing quay.

Well all you responses make perfect sense. Probably should have thought that through more

The latter.

Also remember, pointing out that the call screener screwed up can make for a good few minutes of comedy.

Every single caller is good for a roasting of about 4-5 lines each from Ant and Jim while Opie tramples everyone.
