Weird inclusion. Seemed to be unrelated to Farley altogether.

Pontification Jimmy is my favorite character

Gotta love when Jim is trying to be smart, his bug eyes shoot out, his mouth goes agape, and shoots out a Rich Vos "AWHHHHHHH".

Ronnie B has talked about this before, and with Dan Aykroyd even, about John Belushi and similar types, that when these people die everyone tries to drape their lives and careers in sadness like there was always this level of morbidness about every routine they ever did when they were alive, when it's total bullshit. These were the kinds of people who lit up every room they walked into with their energy. The comedic recklessness these people had to take big chances probably has something to do with their personal instabilities, but they weren't trying to feed some undercurrent of morbidness into their act while they were alive, and until they die nobody ever detects that factor, because it isn't there. It just sells tabloid press to paint these bright people as secret depressives, after their premature deaths.

I think Farley in particular was pretty depressed. Probably more so because he was sort of locked into that funny fat guy role which he couldn't escape, and because he was a compulsive drug user, and because he couldn't build intimate relationships with women. But you're right, he didn't use that depression in his comedy, or if he did, he used comedy to block his depression. That's not to say all comics are mentally ill as Jim often says, but I'd imagine a great deal of them are just by virtue of the business they're in. Show biz is brutal.

UGH! You're not deep Jim! You don;t have your finger on the pulse of the whole world.

Did Jimmy ever even meet Farley? I don't get why he was in this. I get that what he said may have been true for comics...but...as you watch these types of things, they tend to go back to a person again. I just kept waiting..."Where's Jimmy?" Oh, he had nothing else to add to this.

(If he is on it again, it's because I got bored and skipped through.)
