Callers, stop calling to clarify facts .. whether Opie requests it or not ... (anyone out there know? etc..) just don't call ... its fucking boring 0 entertainment shit ... i would much rather caller's trying to make a joke because even if it bombs it is still entertaining ... those guys on the phones explaining the hunting preserves is exactly what i'm talking about (or the tides) .. what is the fucking point? they aren't going to invite you to be 5th mic just stop ... BE ENTERTAINING if you call!!! don't just do it to fulfill your sad need to connect with the guys on the show

I think they are doing it so the idiots listening don't go around saying dumb, incorrect shit they heard on the radio. Some people are happy being ignorant and some people like to know what they are talking about. I don't see any problem with people correcting the boys when they are wrong.

Well the request OP is asking for says people shouldn't ever volunteer information, even when they ask for people to call in with more info about a subject. I don't think it's an attempt to look smart if you are right. If you don't know what you are talking about but refuse to admit you're wrong that's an ignorant person trying to seem smart. If you do know what you are talking about it's ok to correct someone. Some people don't mind finding shit out.
