Would it be interesting radio having Lady Di's son call in?

I wonder what he thinks of his mom. Has he ever been on in the past?

It would make for good really sad Radio. Lady Di's son has seen it all and im sure like TEDS_CAKE_EMPROIM says hes checked out.
I dont think rehab or anything would help her. It's not that she is too far gone, it's just her mind isn't mentally capable of understanding the situation she is in for any prolonged period of time. So she would go to rehab and do the motions like a gold fish get out and drink because she retained none of the information and has no self worth, and she will die because of it.

This week was amazing radio but it's also really depressing. Like it seems like Lady Di is just going to continue till she dies. Like she was obviously so hurt from things that happened in her life that she just gave up. I really hope she can somehow change

I hope so too. It would be really cool to see the O&A team help someone out. I think there going to try and it's pretty cool. But shit man, she drank herself to emotional numbness, short term memory loss, and the social IQ of 6 year old. She probably doesn't even desire to put it back together. That really old pic of her, man she was a babe.

Nigga I almost fapped to that old pic of her. She probably was such a nice person but got depressed after her husband killed himself. I feel like Colin's a genius and knew this would all happen btw. Like he saved Artie Lange and now he's trying to save Lady Di

goddammit!

I doubt he acknowledges her existence. It gets to a point where they become too much of a burden to even talk to. Like my mom is a fucking loon and I haven't spoken to her in 7 years.

Today Dr. Steve mentioned her having an intervention so I wonder if her son will re-connect with her through this whole thing

The only way for the intervention to be effective would be for the son to be there.

Have you personally been involved in an intervention, what was it like? And for some reason I feel like Lady Di is still gonna "Yes" them to death and just ignore their problems. But I also think if her son yells at her she'll get a reality check and break down

she needs to be broken down.

I want one of those "best cry ever" on youtube moments with lady di. This week has made me realize that I might be a sadist.

yeah even though it'll be so cringey and brutal I really wanna hear it

I've never done interventions because I work for the federal government (formerly DoD) and that's not their thing. I'm doing veterans treatment court now, where these young men and women veterans are arrested for drug and alcohol crimes and they can avoid jail/prison if they commit to one year of intensive psychotherapy and drug/alcohol treatment (Matrix evidence-bases module). I do the weekly addiction recovery skills group and the one on one psychotherapy. I specialize in PSTD and MST (military sexual trauma).
Lady Di needs a program similar to this because I believe she is a victim of sexual trauma (and other traumas); however, non-DoD/VA therapists are not as skilled at understanding PTSD as we are within the DoD/VA system. The alcoholism is connected to the "avoidance" component of PTSD, where she is trying to numb the intrusive thoughts and the associated psychological pain. Just a theory for entertainment purposes only.

Like most children of alcoholics and addicts, he probably holds a lot of pain and has disowned her. Would make for awesome radio though.

Yeah like I wonder if he has any stories of what she was like as a neglectful mother

Eh I would listen, but man, it would be horribly depressing.

Good lord, yes.
However it's basically guaranteed that any chance she had at recovery would be removed after O&A were done with him. If you think she self medicates now..

I think it might be positive actually. Like if she hears from her own son how disappointed he is in her it might shake some sense into her. And as a listener I'm really curious to hear what her son is like being raised by such a miserable lump
2 [deleted] 2014-03-20
Or the guilt triggers her to continue to drink and numb herself.
3 xBrianSmithx 2014-03-20
That's a tough one. I don't want to hear Di's son hate on her like everyone else. Addiction is almost always worse on the loved ones around the addict.
1 Ebhagz 2014-03-20
Yeah I'm also curious what her son's like. Like is he just a bitter angry dude

Civilians are off limits.
